[62] Obadiah enlisted as a dragoon under Capt. David Edgar, Col. ElishaSheldon. He received a pension.

His enlistment was at New Hartford, Litchfield, Cty, Ct. MilitaryRecords Page, 228,282,540. He served as a private, p. 540 in Capt.Amos Mills Company Militia July 4, 1778 for 3 mos in Col. Roger EnosRegiment on Hudson p. 228 Served July 1, 1780 to December 3, 1780 P282.

Enlisted Feb 1, 1781 for war from Union County Private in Col. ElishaSheldons, light artilary Dragoons. Applied for pension July 19, 1828for 2 years active service in army living at the time in Eaton,Luzerne Co. Pa. & his widow Aged 79 was allowed the pension on May 8,1845 Rhoda Wilcox. After his service he settled in Hunters Ferry,Lot #33 west of Susquehana River in Pennsylvania.

Obadiah married and had one son Thomas, Born 4-1-73 half brother tothe folloing 7 children. Revas. 1790, Nov. 16; RAchel, June 3, 1792,married Sylvester Strickland; Obediah, July 8 1800; Saphrona, April20, 1802 married Robinson; Synthia, April 4, 1804 married Stevenson;Anna Matilda, Oct. 13, 1806 and Queena Clemena, Nov. 2, 1811.
