Jeffrey a famer, was married three times. His first wife Susannah ConeEldred who he married in 1700 was the grandaughter of SusannahHutchinson, the youngest daughter of Anne Hutchinson. Susannah was10 years old with her mother who was murdered by Indians at PelhamsNeck, NY in 1643. She herself was carried off by the Indians and livedin captivity for four years until being rescued by the Dutch. Susannahwas the daughter of Thomas Eldred and Susannah Cole. She bore Jeffreytwo children.
When Susannah died in 1705 he married Hannah Hazard and they hadthree more children, Thomas, Stephen, and William When Hannah diedgiving birth to William.
Jeffrey married for the third time 6 months later to Susannah who wasa widow of Philip Long and they had 5 children. It is not clear if heraised those 5 children in addition to his own. Jeffrey and Hannahhad two more together...Hannah 1714 and John 1716
At the time of his death Jeffrey was quite wealthy and his farm was inPoint Judith Neck. Other lands were in Westerly. Also other farms,Great Plain and Green Hill on Pt. Judith.
