In the 1850 Census both Ervin and Martha were at Smyrna along withSister-in-Law Catherine Champlin.
Martha Champlin, daughter of Uriah Auchmore Champlin and Polly Card,was born at Sherburne (Chenango County) New York on July 14, 1827 anddied at Ithaca (Tompkins County) New York on October 8, 1899. She wasburied with her husband and son Hiram in the West End Cemetery atSmyrna, New York where I located their gravestones on October 15,1997. In the 1830 Census, she was enumerated with her parents atSherburne.
She married Ervin H. Sprague of Smyrna, New York on December 29, 1847at Hamilton (Madison County) New York in a wedding ceremony conductedby the Reverend Thomas Greenly. Ervin Sprague was born on December 19,1824 and died on August 3, 1895.
All four children of Ervin H. and Martha (Champlin) Sprague born atHamilton, died young.
