James M .Laney: first as Pvt, co's B and
E, 4th Bn, Hilliard's Legion; after
1863 as Corp, Co E, 59th Ala Inf
Rgt; he may have initially been in
Kolb's Btry; Co E of the 59th was
Capt Stuckey's Co.

Charles B. Laney .: enl at Ozark Mar 14,
1862 as Pvt, Co I, 33d Ala Inf Rgt.

Z.W. Laney did indeed serve in the CW;
he activly served as a 2d Sgt in the
"Henry Mounted Rebels", Henry County
Reserves; appears on the muster roll
as age 36, blue eyes, dark hair, fair
complexion, 5' 10''; school teacher;
discharged after Oct 1, 1864 due to a
disability.
