Mount Serene Cemetery

Township 10 / Range 27 / Section 4

Mt. Serene Cemetery is located on a woods road off SR 30, also known as Clayton Highway, between Clayton and Eufaula.  It has also been called the Stewart Family Cemetery.  It is on the south side of the highway, about 2 miles west of the Barbour County Landfill.  There is a sign next to the highway.  There are fifty marked graves in this cemetery while there is almost double that in unmarked gravesites.  Surnames found here are, Stewart, Horton, Reaves, Glover, Hagler, Norton, Bowden, Turner and Smith.
