Pleasant View Presbyterian
Located seven miles southeast of Clayton, Barbour Co, AL.



Organized in 1846 by M A Patterson and located near Roderick McSwean
place. 
About 1856 John McGilvary, one of the charter members deeded
a two acre plot for a church building.
In 1966, the old building was torn down and a new one begun. The
building committee were Willie Ray Zorn, Marzell Baxley and Hilton
Cooper.
Buried in the cemetery near the church are some of the charter members,
including:
Malcolm McCraney 1807-1885 & his wife, Arabella McCraney 1809-1893
Daniel McCraney 1818-1883
Jane McCraney 1816-1883
Nancy Victoria McCraney, wife of James F Walker, 1852-1876

Edward Dean Glover
Graveside services for Edward Dean Glover, 74, was
scheduled for Friday, March 29, 2002 at 11:00 AM at
Pleasant View Presbyterian Church Cemetery.  The Rev.
Randall Peacock was scheduled to officiate with
Chapman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Mr.
Glover died Wednesday, March 27, at his residence in
Clayton.

Born Sept 6, 1927, in Barbour County, Mr. Glover was
the son of the late Johncie and Leila Dominey Glover.
He was  well- known painter in the area.  He was a
life long resident of Barbour County and was a member
of Pleasant View Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Bonita Pelham, Eufaula;
two sons, Earl Nolin, Clayton and Bill Noiln, Eufaula;
a brother, Layton Glover (DAD), Clayton; three
sisters, Mary Elizabeth Thompson of Coden, Allene
Waters of Semmes and Emma Martin, Milton, Fla; eight
grandchildren and nine great grand children.

Nephews were asked to serve as pallbearers.
