Wycott Plantation Cemetery
a.k.a. Academy Cemetery

Wycott Plantation Cemetery, a.k.a. Academy Cemetery is located about four
miles south of US 82 and Batesville on Co. Rd. 79. Interments there date from
the early 1840's with none after the turn of the 19th century. Although it
becomes neglected at times, it is fairly well maintained today. It is
right
next to the road on the east side and since it has been cleaned up, is easy
to spot. There are many unmarked burials there.

Silas Stephenson is buried at Weycott Plantation.
He was born April 10, 1777 Craven Co., N. C. d. Feb. 8, 1855 Barbour Co.,
AL
I have a picture of his gravestone. This Cemetery was never plotted. Just a
few graves there (can't find the paper I wrote amount of graves there 38-43)
