Sue Helms Colwell
November 5, 1926 - March 15, 2006
Sue Helms Colwell, 79, of Columbus, GA died Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at St.
Francis Hospital. Mrs. Colwell was born November 5, 1926 in Barbour County, AL.,
the daugher of the late Leandy Wess Helms and the Late Minnie Lee Smith Helms.
She was the former owner of LaPeche Beauty College, St.
Elmo Beauty Salon and Sue's Beauty Shop. Mrs. Colwell was a member of Hilton
Terrace Baptist Church. She had lived in Columbus most of her life and was
preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, James Willliam Colwell.
Survivors include her daugher and son in law, Brenda and Al Austin of
Montgomery, Al.; grandson and his wife, Ken and Kim Coggins of Dacula, Ga.; a
great drandaugher, Rachel Coggins; step granddaughter and her husband, Sara and
Richard Hasty of Buford, Ga., one sister Mildred Page of Port Angeles, Wa., one
brother, Howard Dean Helms of Gadsden, Al.; several nieces and nephews.
