Barbour County records are now microfilmed and copies are in the Alabama State Archives and the local library in Eufaula. If you cannot visit either of these locations the Archives does loan to other libraries for a fee. http://statearchives.us/alabama.htm

Macon County, Gaand the Georgia News, newspapers there's are a lot of Alabama info there.  These papers are added to weekly and many times daily.    Goes way beyond death and birth notices.
