The best we can figure out from family members in the area-- it is HELMS SCHOOL- it was a log building-- The Salem Baptist Church is at this location now. It is either north Dale Co. or southern Barbour Co. I like to Donate the original to a historical group either in Dale or Barbour before it gets LOST in time and knowledge as to what it is. Barbara Crow-- my grandad Stephens taught school at Helms school in Barbour, where Salem Baptist church is now and the folllowing Teals were in the class of 1892. The class was seperated male and female--

A Mr. Casey, who I met recently( whose family is in the class) felt the
location of the school was HELMS in Barbour Co. John W. Stephens, of Dale
Co. taught school there in 1892. It is written with pencil on a yellow
tablet paper, names and ages, first by males and then females- Males Pt.
