We'll fight them, sir, 'til hell freezes over,
and then, sir, we will
fight them on the ice."

Many Barbour County citizens came from Georgia to Barbour County. I have
placed the Mt. Paran Primitive Baptist Church minutes online at
www.gloverfamily.com/mtparan/mtparan.htm I recognize many Barbour
residents as being in these minutes.

Where are these
graves. I have no real
information, but I have a picture of two graves which my
grandfather, Counce Monroe Hancock, identified as the graves of his
grandparents, Josiah Hancock and Mary Goolsby Hancock. The graves
are in Barbour County, but he did not know the exact location and
was unable to travel there during his lifetime. I'm hoping to locate
them some way, and perhaps you can help me. Anna |

Greetings! A few thoughts on
Barbour County. I have been hard pressed to "spruce up" the
website to java and shock wave. My decision is to keep this
site as simple as possible. Many people simply cannot afford
new computers and are operating on the old operating systems.
I want everyone to be able to access this site and not have to sit
forever to finally get a error page. So I will keep the
graphics as small as possible and pretty much keep to printed matter
and simple graphics/photos. This will allow everyone to
research this site with ease and hopefully the pages will load
quickly for everyone. Margie Daniels 1/7/2011 |
