Drucilla
Evans Glover Drucilla
Evans was born about 1790 in Georgia, according to the 1850 Census reports, and
the 1860 Mortality records of Barbour County.
She was the granddaughter of George Evans born Abt. 1740 and died in 1819
in Clarke County, Georgia. George
and his wife, Hannah had four children, George, Walter, William, and John. The
Will of George Evans, dated 17 July 1816, in Clarke County, names his wife
Hannah, and grandsons, Anslem Evans, William Evans, John Evans, all of Putnam
County. Drucilla
and John were married for 47 years, when she died from a tumor in her side,
according to the Mortality Schedule for 1860 in Barbour County.
She was from "Pioneer Stock", a survivor, a great lady who
nurtured her family and took in children of her family that had been left
orphans, or without parents. When her sister Tabitha died, her husband remarried
and had children, Drucilla cared for these children also. The 1850 Census showed
Jackson Vining residing in the John P. Glover household. Though Drucilla lived
in Alabama, she kept a close relationship with her Georgia relatives, visiting
often. The
Glovers were Scottish and a very close knitted family.
John and Drucilla had nine children of their own, all of whom lived to be
adults in Barbour County. Their descendants still remain in the area, living in
Barbour, Dale, Henry, Bullock, and Geneva Counties in Alabama. Written

Information on the continous research of Drucilla's family..
I am back from the library, and I'm sad to say, there is
no Will for William Evans. I have two pages of Appraisement, and the
Index to Estates of Putnam County. The appraisement Papers say that he
died October 15, 1808. The Estate papers run from 11-3-1823 to April 14, 1833.
There are twelve entries over this period of time. The only thing I know
to do is to go up to Eatonton, and wade through the records in hope of finding
the disbursement. I note that there are three family members who bought at the
sale. Wilmouth, Drucilla, William, and Anslum. Wilmouth got most of
it. I noticed that John woods bought a razor set, and that John Cowan
was one of the appraisers.
These pages are too large to scan, or even copy, so I'll mail
them to you if you want them.
