is the story as far as I know about my Forehand ancestors in Barbour
County, Al. Stephen
came from 1850 Census shows Stephen as a farmer living inumeration number 244 property value $200.00 his age is given as 55 and Martha his wife is listed as 46 years of age. 1. Nance Forehand was the eldest child age 17 b.. SC 2. John Forehand age 15 b. SC 3. Jessie Forehand born May 12, 1839 in Barbour County, Al. 4. Jeptha born 1841 in Barbour County 5.

is believed that the family came to Barbour around 1835
and that he lived in or around Eufaula.
Stephen Forehand died sometime between 1858 and 1860. Martha died after
1850 but before 1858. The burial site is unknown. Stephen remarried soon after the death of Martha. The

Miss Nancy Ann Durden of Barbour County 09/27/1860 in Barbour. Jessie appears on the Feb. 26, 1862 muster rolls of The Eufaula Light Artillery age 20 (22). Jessie
survived the war, he and Nancy
migrated from Barbour
county to Coffee
county al. If
