1835 through 1848,John McGilvery entered entered land in the same
neighborhood. There were 2 men by the name of John McGilvery in the 1840
census .In 1836 Duncan McGilvery entered land near County line Church on the
Henry- Barbour line.

Hugh and Mary Gilles. Margaret was b. in 1813 in Scotland d. 20 Jan. 1885 .They

In Mar. 1848,Martin McGilvery deeded his share of the estate of John
McGilvery to Mrs. Janet McGilvery. The land described in this deed was
patented to John McGilvery in 1835.In the deed she mentioned a brother
Alexander. Janet McGilvery was b. ca.1786 in Scotland d. by Mar. 1856.She
deeded her entire estate to Roderick Chishlom and his sister Janet.
Duncan McGilvery b. ca. 1814 N.C. d. after 1880.In 1836 in entered land near
the Henry Barbour line. He was Administrator of the estate of John McGilvery
in 1857 and James McGilvery SR. in 1863.
In 1850 he was head of the household which consisted of his Mother Mary and
the following brothers.

in Dale County. And he died by 1860.On 27 Feb 1861 Jonathon Thomas was
appointed guardian of his minor children who were living with him in 1860.
