Pilot and Floyd
I am still searching for parents and siblings of Samuel Pilot and Margaret
Jeanette Floyd. They married in 1846 in Barbour Co.. In the 1850 mortality
schedule, Thomas Pilot age one year is listed. Samuel and Margaret Pilot are in
the 1850 Barbour Co census with no children. Samuel's occupation is listed as
'shoemaker'. Their ages are incorrect in the census, Samuel's should be abt
32 years and Margaret should be 20 years old.
Samuel Pilot bought land in Barbour in 1858, listing himself as being from Dale
Co.
I am also interested in Michael William Floyd (or William Michael) who could
possibly be Margaret Jeanette's brother. Michael Floyd married Dicey Malissa
Benton (or Barton) in Barbour Co abt 1855. In the 1860 census Dicey Malissa
Floyd is listed in a Bass household with 2 children. Michael and Dicey Malissa
Floyd are in the 1870 census of Barbour Co.

The question marks, of course, are mine where I could not decipher the writing.
This is all on one document and looks to me to be the same writing, even the
signatures of the two men.
