In addition, Harris, pp 186-199, gives some Rosters that had been printed in the local papers. These lists have some duplicate names, and some are also incorporated in other AL units. But you may find these of interest:

• The Marion Rifles departed Marion in January, 1861. Also in Co. "G", 4th AL; Capt. Royston was later in the 8th AL
• On February 1, 1861, a roster of the Canebrake Rifle Guards , Uniontown, appeared in "The Canebrake Herald".
  Look also in Co. "D" 4th AL.
• Also on February 1, 1861, a must of the Independent Troop , a Cavalry unit formed in Uniontown, appeared in the "Canebrake Herald".
  Look also in Gideon Nelson and Jeff Davis Artillery units. This is a muster roll of the Marion Light Infantry Co. "G", 4th AL Infantry.
  This unit Commanded by Capt. H. H. Mosely, who stated that the company left Marion on April 24, 1861. NOTE: footnote indicates list seems to be made AFTER the war; some shown as "dead", died long after war.
• President of Howard College, Henry Talbird, formed Captain Henry Talbird's company. See also 11th AL (compare/contrast with 11th Co. K); 41st AL; Marion Rifles
  A Letter, anonymously written July 3, 1861, Lynchburg, VA, stated company consisted of 107 men.
• Company formed April 8, 1862 by Charles R. Harris from men on the "eastern side of the Cahaba River" East Perry Rangers departed 11 Apr for Camp Winn, Shelby Springs, AL
• If your ancestor was living 1907 you may want to browse the CSA 1907 Veterans These are annotated files (Harris) and quite large. Therefore I have divided the list:
