submitted by Leon Weekley

The Bankester cemetery is located in the Bromley community in Baldwin County. From Spanish Fort, Alabama take Hwy. 225 some 5 miles until you see Bromley Rd. to the right.Turn down this road, the pavement will turn into dirt, and go some 6 miles until you see the first dirt road with no gate blocking it on the right.Turn down this road and go a ½ mile until you see a narrow dirt road to the right. The Cemetery is down this narrow road.

This cemetery is kept up by the Perkins family in nearby Stapleton, Alabama. There are a lot of graves that are marked by wooden stubs, white wooden crosses and blank slabs. The oldest marked grave in the cemetery is that of John Howell who died in 1883. Most of the graves in the cemetery are of the Bankester family of Baldwin County and their relations.
