BUIE, Malcom (Private, Company A, 6th Alabama Infantry Regiment) Malcom Royal Buie was born September 7, 1842 in Gadsden County Florida the son of Mary McKenzie, (b. 1808, d. December 20, 1893 in Henry County Alabama) and John William Buie, (born Tattnall County Georgia, September 1803, died July 6, 1857, Henry County Alabama) The Buie family  migrated to Henry County from Gadsden County Florida between 1850 and 1855. Malcom died  September 10, 1924 in Smith County Texas.  

Malcom married December 29, 1867 in Henry County Alabama to Sarah Jane King. Sarah Jane King was born in Henry County Alabama in 1840 and died in Overton, Smith County, Texas in about 1909. The Father and Mother of Sarah Jane was Michael DeVane and Arrenia Wall King. Michael was born in North Carolina and Arrenia in Georgia. They came to Henry County between 1834 and 1836. Sarah's brother William Rufus King married Malcom Royal Buie's sister Caroline Buie in Henry County Alabama.

Children of Malcom Royal Buie and Sarah Jane King are: 1st) Casey Alexander Buie, born March 8, 1868, Henry County Alabama died September 10, 1926 in Mabank, Texas married 1895 in Texas to Mary Almedia Jane Reynolds. 2nd) Thomas Malcom Buie born November 10, 1871 in Henry County Alabama died April 25, 1935 in Ellis County Texas married 1901 in Ellis County  Texas to Nancy Alma Brookshire; 3rd) Alphus Abiaja (Bige) Buie born October 21, 1873 in Henry County Alabama died February 26, 1945 in Smith County Texas and married December 23, 1897 in Smith County  Texas to Chaffer Jones; 4th) Mary Arenia Buie, born April 25, 1879, Henry County Alabama died May 7, 1957 in Smith County Texas married  November 1, 1899 in Ellis County Texas to George Walter Ward; 5th) Lyndon Royal Buie, born April 25, 1881, Henry County Alabama died September 9, 1839, Smith County Texas married  October 12, 1902 in Smith County Texas to Emma Emmons. Malcom and Sarah Jane migrated first to Ellis County Texas about 1899 and then to Smith County, Texas where they lived the remainder of their lives. The picture was taken in Waxahachie Ellis County, Texas shortly after they moved there.  Malcom enlisted at Columbia, Alabama. Texas Confederate Pension #23462. BUIE, James A. (Private, Company A, 6th Alabama Infantry Regiment) James Alexander Buie was born February 19, 1832 in Gadsden County Florida;  Died January 30, 1907 and buried Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, east of Ashford, Houston County Alabama. James married 1st to Susan A. Youngblood and they had one son Abner Hammond Buie born March 1888 in Henry County Alabama and two daughters, names unknown at this time.; married 2nd to Frances C. BUIE, William W. (Private, Company A, 6th Alabama Infantry Regiment) William Wallis Buie, born December 25, 1839 in Gadsden County Florida the son of Mary McKenzie, (born 1808, died December 20, 1893, Henry County Alabama) and John William Buie, (born Tattnall County Georgia, September 1803, died 6 July 1857 in Henry County Alabama.) William enlisted at Columbia, Alabama and died May 31, 1862, Killed at the Battle of Seven Pines Virginia.  He never married with no issue. Rick Richter richter@entercomp.com   Enterprise, Alabama 
BUIE, Daniel Calvin (Private 5th Battalion, Florida Cavalry, CSA) Daniel Calvin Buie was born February 8, 1846 in Gadsden County Florida and came to Henry County Alabama with his parents, Mary McKenzie and John William Buie between 1850 and 1855. He died in Houston County Alabama on June 6, 1912 and is buried at Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Daniel was married to Makey America Barber who was born about 1848 in Gadsden County Florida and died December 28, 1919 in Houston County Alabama and is buried at Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Daniel Calvin signed, as a witness, William Rufus King's Confederate Pension Application and was a neighbor for many years in the Ebenezer Baptist Church area of what is now a part of Houston County.  I believe my Great Grandfather, William Calvin King is named after him. Just a guess mind you but that is the first time the name 'Calvin' appears in the King family line. He was born in Henry County in 1858. Rick Richter richter@entercomp.com   Enterprise, Alabama
