RUDULPH, James Murray, (Private, Company M, 6th Alabama Infantry Regiment) James Murray Rudulph was born (when and where); died (when and where); buried (when and where) the the son of Mary Emma Higgins and Dr. Burwell Boykin  Rudulph of Hayneville and Gordonsville of Lowndes County. James married (when and where) to Caroline White Beasley born (when and where); died (when and where) the daughter of (mother) and (Father). Children of James and Caroline are: 1st) etc....... Murray was a member of the militia unit the Hayneville Guard that was organized in 1859. He was enrolled on April 17, 1861 for 12 months in Captain J. J. Willingham's Company at Hayneville, Lowndes County Alabama. He enlisted with the rest of the Hayneville Guard on May 16, 1861 in Montgomery Alabama and became Company E, 6th Alabama Volunteer Infantry Regiment. March 1862 the Army of Northern Virginia was re-organized and Company E became Company M. He was serving as a sharpshooter. He appears to have been transferred to the 5th Alabama Infantry before or after he was wounded (when and where). He was on leave when he was captured at Petersburg Virginia. He was finally paroled on June 17, 1865 and had to walk home a long way from Point Lookout Maryland to Lowndes County Alabama. Caroline Burnett Cook CarBurCo@aol.com
