Bullock Times, Union Springs, Al Mr. N. O. Glover
Died at his residence in Union Springs, 9:35 am, July 3rd, 1878, of typhoid fever, complicated with bronchitis and valvular stenosis of the heart. Mr. Glover was in the fifty-third year of his age. He was born in Georgia, but moved to Barbour County, Al. and subsequently (in 1857) moved to this place. He joined the Confederate army in 1861, discharging faithfully the duties of a soldier, until wounded at Chancellorsville. When able to travel, he came home on furlough, afterwards returned to the army, and was honorable discharged. We are not often called upon to chronicle the death of such a man as N. O. Glover. Quiet and unobtrusive in manner, yet always prompt and faithful in the discharge of every duty: amiable and kind in disposition, uncompromisingly honest, he was esteemed and honored by all who knew him. If any one ever said aught against the deceased , it has never been repeated in our presence. He embodied in his life the apostolic injunction: "Be kindly , affectionated one to another, with brotherly love; In honor preferring one another: Recompense no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men." His bereaved widow and four orphan children have the sympathy and condolence of the entire community.
