June 17, 2001, at Cedar Crest Nursing Home in Montgomery.
Graveside Services will be 2 p.m. today in the Hartford City Cemetery with
Bottoms Garden Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the
funeral home today from 10 - 12 p.m.

The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at the High Falls Assembly of God Church
with the Revs. Billy Joe Glover and Nicky Senn officiating. Burial will be
in the church cemetery with Bottoms Garden Chapel of Hartford, Ala directing

Survivors include three daughters, Willie Mae Miller, Mary Alice Newsome, and
Betty Hatcher, all of Hartford; one son, Carthell Hatcher, Hartford, one
brother, Ray Thompson, Hartford, two sisters, Mary Lee Beck and Sara Hodge, both
of Hartford, seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.

Jim J. Hatcher Buried Monday
Mr. Jim J. Hatcher Sr., age 90 of route2, Geneva, died Saturday morning in
Geneva Hospital after a short illness. Funeral services were held at 3 o
clock Monday afternoon at the Pittman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lynwood
Duncan officiating. Burial was in Liberty Chapel Cemetery with Pittman
Funeral Home directing.
He is survived by 4 daughters, Mrs. Ester Townes of Graceville, Fla., Mrs.
Mary McDonald of Rine Lander, Wisconsin, Mrs. Corine Minshew of Geneva, and
Mrs. Edna Kolah of Toledo, Ohio. Two sons, Jim Hatcher, Jr. of Dothan, Ala.,
and Henry H. Hatcher of Sharpsville, Penn. One brother, A.M. Hatcher of
Lakeland, Fla., 27 grandchildren, and 50 great - grandchildren.

in a car that hit a sand dune Friday. Carlos Earley, Jr., another Geneva
County High School Senior was driver of the car.
Funeral at 3p.m. Sunday at First Methodist Church here with the Rev. Glenn
Cantrell officiating. Burial in Geneva City Cemetery; Pittman Funeral Home
directing.
Suvivors include parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Hatcher, three sisters, Mrs. Mary
Messer, Mrs. Rebecca Menshaw, and Miss Joyce Hatcher, Geneva. Two brothers, Rex

ALABAMIAN IS KILLED IN HIGHWAY ACCIDENT
JACKSONVILLE, FLA., Aug. 18, 1941(AP)
John Sanders Hatcher, 85, of Hartford, Ala...., who was on his way to
Jacksonville to make his home with his daughter, Mrs. C.J. Williams, was
killed in an automobile collision about 30 miles west of here today.
Other occupants of the two cars, among whom was Mrs. Williams escaped injury
altho the machines overturned. The body will be sent to Hartford tomorrow
for burial.

Mrs. Ella Hatcher, wife of Madison Hatcher, died of influenza at her home on
route 2 Geneva, Wednesday Morning. Funeral Services took place from the home
Thursday morning at 11 o'clock with Rev. McGlocklin, Pastor of The Methodist
Church of Hartford officiating.
The deceased is survived by her husband and four children, One is an infant
only a few days old. This is the first death from influenza in Geneva County
so far this year.

Mrs. Lula Mae Hatcher, 82 of 302 Hillcrest St., Geneva, Al. died Monday
afternoon 26 Aug. 1996 in Wiregrass Nursing Home in Geneva after a short
illness.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning from the
Sweet Gum Head Church of Christ with Minister K.D. McKee and Rev. Mike
Shirah officiating. Burial will be in the Sweet Gum Head Cemetery with
Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.The body will remain at the funeral
home and will be carried to the church one hour before the service.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday night from 6 - 8
p.m.. Mrs. Hatcher was preceded in death by her husband, Hamp Hatcher, and
one Grandson, Ricky Watson of Geneva.

HATCHER DEATH RULED SUICIDE - Oscar E. Hatcher 55, was found dead in the
bedroom of his home in Hartford early Monday. Coroner R.E. Howell ruled that
Hatcher died from a self inflicted wound from a 22 caliber revolver.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Highfalls Church with Rev. D.P.
Benefield officiating. Burial was in Wesley Chapel Cemetery with Holman
Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Hatcher is survived by his wife, three sons, Billy and Eudon of Hartford,
Rex of Valdosta, Ga., his mother, Winnie Hatcher; two sisters, Lula Mae
Brannon of Panama City, Fl., and Nettie Lou Whigham of Enterprise; six
brothers,George, Hartford Rt. 1; John, Dothan Rt. 1, Lee, Enterprise, Loyd,

Mrs. Hatcher was a life long resident of Geneva County and a member of the
Highfalls Assembly of God Church. She was retired from Phillip Van Heusen
Shirt Factory.She was preceeded in death by her husband, Oscar Hatcher, a
Grandson, Rex Allen Hatcher, two sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include three sons, Rex (Peggy) Hatcher, Billy Hatcher (Lois) , all of
Hartford; Eudon Hatcher (Julia) , Crawfordville, Fl., one brother, Henry C.

The Rev. Robert Hatcher, Jr., 82 of Hartford, Ala. went home to be with The
Lord Friday March 3, 2000, after a lengthly illness.
The Rev. Hatcher was a lifelong resident of Geneva Co., Ala. He was a
Retired Minister with The Assemblies of God, with whom he Pastored several
Churches in Ala and Fla. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at
Highfalls Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m. tonight at
the church.
Bottoms-Garden Chapel Funeral Home of Hartford will be in charge of services
The Rev. Billy Joe Glover, The Rev. Roy Creamer and the Rev. Teddy Joe Bias
will officiate the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Allen C. Hatcher, age 69, of Route 1, The Kelly Community, died at an
early hour Wednesday morning in a Geneva Hospital after a short illness.
Funeral services were 3:30 p.m.Thursday evening at High Falls Assembly of
God Church with the Rev. Charlie Earl Glover and the Rev. Mrs. D.C. Rodgers
officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery with Garden Chapel
Funeral Home of Hartford directing. The body was at the family residence on
Route 1 Hartford until funeral time Thursday evening.
Mr. Hatcher was a member of The High Falls Assembly of God Church. Survivors
include his wife, Mrs. Cora Mae Hatcher of Route 1, Hartfoed, three daughters,
Mrs. Willie Mae Miller of Route 2, Miss Betty Sue Hatcher of Route 1, all of
Hartford, one son, Raymond Carthel Hatcher of Route 1, Hartford, two brothers,

Dies of Heart Attack
P.H. Hatcher 55, former member of the Geneva County Commissioner's Court and
prominent county farmer died of a heart attack last Friday night (Oct. 25,
1952) at a Hartford hospital.
Funeral services were held Sunday at the Hartford Methodist Church. Rev.
Lamar Spencer and the Rev. C.C, Bennett officiated at thefuneral services.
Burial was in the Hartford City Cemetery with Holman Funeral Home in charge
of the arrangements.
He is survived by his father, J.W. Hatcher of Hartford; two sisters, Mrs. Nell
Holloway of Atlanta, Ga., and Mrs. Tessie Schwinn of Chattahooche, Florida.

the Covington Manor Nursing Home in Opp.
Funeral services were held Friday at 3 p.m. from the Fellowship Bapist
Church with the Rev. John Spears and Harry o. Adkinson officiating. Burial
followed in the friendship Baptist Church Cemetery (Hway 27 N. Geneva) with
Meadowlawn Funeral Home of Hartford directing. The family requested that in

body remained at the funeral home until one hour before services.
