Ambers D. Whittle, 89 of Hartford, died Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 20, 2000
in Flowers Hospital (Dothan, Houston, Co., Ala.) following a long illness.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, at Highfalls
Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Scott Cox officiating and Bottoms
Garden Chapel Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family received will
friends at Bottoms Garden Chapel in Geneva from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept.
21.
Mr. Whittle was a native and lifelong resident of Geneva Co. He was preceded
in death by three brothers, Marvin, Matha, and HoustonWhittle, one sister,
Ethel Capan.
Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Opal Jouner, Hazel and Thomas
Jones, Hartford; one step-daughter, Joan Baines, Geneva; three sons and a
daughter-in-law, Harold Whittle, Hartford, Charles and Jonella Whittle, Orlando,
Fla., Bobby Whittle, Elmore, Ala., a special friend Susan Stapleton; one
step-son and daughter-in-law, Lurue and Susie Smith, Ozark, 12 grandchildren and
5 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Sullivan, Ola Mae Flemming, both of
Columbus, Ga.
