History
Black City cemetery is located in Black, Al a rural community within Geneva
county.The land for Black cemetery was donated to the community in 1916 by the
"Crutchfield family".The Crutchfields and Noblins were among the first
pioneers in that area. Mr Phillip Durant Sr. built the brick entrance to Black
cemetery, placing a newspaper and coins inside the structure. We would like to
