John W. Stokes, C.S.A. 60th Alabama is buried in Hartford City Cemetery.
His marker looks to be one donated  perhaps by a confederate group.  His
date of birth  and death are not marked on the stone and I know of no one
alive who knows his date of death.  He was born in 1844.  He is my
grandfather but I'm afraid he died alone around 1900.  If I find more, I
will let you know. I am in Texas, but I visited the cemetery in July 2001.
