Odd Fellows

 

Apr. 12, 1909 - "Uncle " Tom Whittlesay he was 58 yrs. old and was born in Moscow , in Fulton Co. Ky. He moved as a young man to Tenn. locating at Weekley and Martin Co. There he met and wooed Miss M. M. Berry . Then they moved to Ar. about five years ago last fall Mrs. Whittlesay died. Surving children Ms. Dona and Will of St. Louis . Remains taken charge by the Odd Fellows burial at Linwood.

Feb. 1 , 1909 - Frank Burton born in Tenn. July 1 , 1868 . He was a prominent citizen and well known farmer of Greene Co. died of pneumonia at the age of 40 . His wife was Alice Cooper daughter of Jim Cooper in 1890. He served as deputy tax collector in 1906 and 1907. He was a member of the Odd Fellows burial at Brown's Chapel Graveyard.

Jan. 10, 1909- Jack Baker killed by falling tree on family farm formerly Cotton Belt section forman at Marmaduke funeral held at Harvey's Chapel conducted by the Odd Fellows.

Jan. 9 ,1909 - Prominent farmer dies Ben Harris , residing 9 miles west of here. Mr. Harris had been afflicted with a ruptured blood vessel since birth. He was buried in Warren's Chapel . Mr. Harris was a member of The Odd Fellows and Woodmen of the World.
