Bronnie Dee Tate, 84, of Paragould, died December 2, 2007 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. Born March 12, 1923 at Guy, Arkansas, she was a retired beautician and former owner of Tate’s Beauty Shop, and was a member of Second and Walnut Church of Christ.

She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Willcockson of Paragould; three grandchildren, Dianna Goodman, Dawnelle Boling, and Randy Willcockson; seven grandchildren, Steven, Jeffrey, Joshua, and Jacob Goodman, and Dillon, Kaylee, and Libby Willcockson; two great grandchildren, Madyson and Conner Goodman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, H. R. and Myrl Nadine Lane.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 5, at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with James A. Brown officiating. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:00 P. M. until 9:00 P. M.

Jo Ann Branch of Paragould, Arkansas, died Monday, December 3, 2007 at St. Bernard's Medical Center. She was born December 14, 1934, the first child of Hobert and Etta Eagle Dortch. She grew up in the Rector, Marmaduke area as well as Detroit, Michigan. She was a graduate of Marmaduke High School where she was a cheerleader. She was employed by the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service until the birth of her first children when she became a consummate homemaker, a craft at which she excelled. She and her husband, Robert B. Branch, Sr. had four children, Bruce Branch and Crete Rhodes, twins, Jeff Branch and Alice Lee. Jo and Bob have eight grandchildren.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents, and by her sister, June Gibson, and brother, Jerry Dortch.

She is survived by her husband, her four children and eight grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Larry Dortch.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 7, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Paragould, under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home. Interment will be at Linwood Cemetery. There will be no public visitation.

Dennis E. Thrasher – age 57 of Rockvale, TN died Tuesday, December 4, 2007 in Tennessee. He was born August 26,1950 in Rector,Arkansas. He worked for Tire Express for 11 years and was Executive Sales Manager and became a seasoned veteran of the commercial tire business. Mr. Thrasher was of the Baptist Faith, and was a member of the Cappadocia Church.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia “Cindy “ Thrasher of the home and his mother, Revelle “Tweet” Thrasher of Rector, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents. Lafe and Willie Thrasher, Maternal grandparents, Earl and Irene Holifield, His father, Denzil Thrasher.

Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 -8:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Funeral Home of Rector.

Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 10, 2007 at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Rector. With James H. Dortch and Ronnie Stevens officiating,with burial to follow in the Woodland Heights Cemetery.

Judy Carol Johnston, 65, Paragould, died Wednesday, December 5, 2007, at her residence.

Born October 21, 1942, in Leachville, Arkansas, Mrs. Johnston was a homemaker, and a member of East Side Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Dale Johnston of the home; one son, Brent Johnston; and one daughter and son-in-law, Julie and James Whitney, all of Paragould. She is also survived by one brother, Larry Brown of Leachville; one sister, Charlene Kimbrell of Caraway; three grandchildren, Jennifer and Jonathan Whitney, and Kadyn Phillips, all of Paragould; two aunts, Edith Gooch of St. Louis, and Eva St. Clair of Farmington, Missouri; and by a niece, Kim Kelton of Caraway.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Brown; and by her mother, Beatrice Hipps Brown.

Visitation will be Friday, from 6:00- 9:00 p.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 8th, at 1:30 p.m. at the East Side Baptist Church, Paragould, with Greg Addison, Jason Noel and Dennis Scudder officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Elouise Roswell, 89, of Paragould, died Thursday, December 6, 2007, at the Paragould Nursing Center.

She was born May 13, 1918, in Batesville, Arkansas, to James and Alice Carlile. Mrs. Roswell was a former employee of Bud’s Flower Shop, and a member of Village Creek Church of Christ.

Survivors include one son, Gale Roswell and his wife, Linda, of Mountain Home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Fayrene and Charles Shipp of Paragould, Louise and Melvin Terry of Burton, Michigan, Glenda and Jim Bruce of Paragould; and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Roswell of Paragould; . She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; and by eleven great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Odis Roswell; one son, Sonny Roswell; four brothers; and three sisters.

Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 9th, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, with Zane Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery.

Anthony Roswell, Tim Roswell, Keith Roswell, Michael Terry, Terry Don Roswell, Chuck Remagen, Chad Biggs, and Junior Terry will serve as pallbearers.

Patricia Edith (Copeland) Johnson, 71 of Paragould, died Saturday, December 8, 2007 at her residence. Mrs. Johnson was born on January 21, 1936 in Harrisburg, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Grace United General Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; Sherman Franklin Johnson of the home, three daughters and son-in-laws; Nancy and Earl Wilkins of Paragould, Elgina and Gary Bennett of Walls, Mississippi, Teresa and Robert Brown of Paragould, two step sons and step daughter-in-law; Tim and Cynthia Johnson and Mark Johnson all of Sacramento, California, one brother; Jack Copeland of Paragould, four sisters and brother-in-laws: Ruby White of Morris Chapel, Tennessee, Era Secrease of Harrisburg, Arkansas, Vera and Ray Martinez of Stockton, California, Sylvia Moss of Buncomb, Illinois, three sister-in-laws Carol Copeland of Paragould, Earlene Copeland of Paragould, Pat Hall of Magalia, California, a brother-in-law; Bob Johnson of Paragould, one grandson: Cody Brown of Paragould, four step grand daughters: Stephanie Crigler of Jonesboro, Sarah Griffin of Kaiser, Arkansas, Angela Johnson of Sacramento, California, Jaquline Johnson of Sacramento, California, one step grandson; Josh Bennett of Osceola, Arkansas and three step great grandchildren.

Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by: her parents; Ollie Elmer Copeland and Nancy Viola Copeland, four brothers; Robert David Copeland, Edward Howard Copeland, Johnnie Floyd Copeland and James Madison Copeland.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 P.M Tuesday, December 11, 2007 in the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Royce Schanda and Glen Smith officiating, burial will follow in the New Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Monday at the Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould.

Caleb James Twitty, 2 months old, of Marmaduke, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, December 9, 2007.

Survivors include his parents, DeBrent and Misty Twitty of the home; one brother, Brayden Julian Twitty of the home; paternal grandparents, Bill and Wava Twitty of Marmaduke; and maternal grandparents, Stan and Sharon Nichols of West Memphis. He is also survived by maternal great grandparents, James Duffel of Jonesboro, and James and Myrtle Nichols of Marion; and numerous aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Herbert and Ilonia Morgan and Charles and Lillian Twitty. Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00 p.m., Thursday, at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

The funeral service will be conducted Friday, December 14th, at the Greater Vision Church of Paragould, with Rick Ethridge and Scott Trayler officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Memorials to the Benjamin Project, an organization to assist families in Northeast Arkansas who have lost young children, 2906 New Castle Drive, Paragould, AR 72450, would be appreciated.

Juanita Elenore Lange, 80, of Lafe, died Tuesday, December 11, 2007, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.

She was born in Lafe, Arkansas, on August 24, 1927, to Oswald and Martha Tritch. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Robert, Donald, Ray and James Tritch, all of Lafe.

She was a life-long member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Lafe, where, on April 11, 1948, she married Edward Lange. They were blessed with five children. Mr. Lange passed away, while still actively involved in farming, on July 15, 1995.

Juanita was a homemaker and also worked for Crowley’s Ridge Development Council for 25 years.

Survivors include her five children, their spouses, seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren: Sharon Anderson, husband Tom, their sons Steven and Brian, and Brian’s wife Gina and daughter Kylie, Carolyn Franzen, husband Tom and their son Kyle, Allen Lange, wife Rita, daughter Jessica and son Jeremy, his wife Christina and their children Allisyn and Hunter, Betty Hedge and husband Randy, David Lange, wife Lorie Whitby, and their sons Jacob and Luke.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., at the Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 13th, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lafe, with Pastor Curt Dwyer officiating.

Gary Gerdes, Greg Gerdes, Jerry Scheer, Wayne Tritch, Ronnie Tritch and Orion Tritch will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
