Gwenda Abbott
(June 11, 1960 - December 16, 2007)

Gwenda Abbott, 47, of Paragould, died Sunday, at her residence. Born June 11, 1960, in Paragould, she was a member of Center Hill Church of Christ. Survivors include her mother, Aretta Hardin of Paragould; her father, William O. Poyner of Jonesboro; one son and daughter-in-law, Jesse and Misty Gilliam of Mountain Home; on daughter and son-in-law, Tricia and Jason Arnold of Paragould. She is also survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Sharon Poyner of Orlando, Florida; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Ken Scholl of West Palm Beach, Florida, Brenda and Steve Harmon of Jonesboro, and Ruth and John Walton of Rothbury, Michigan; and by nine grandchildren, Elijah, Dakota, Alisyn, Breena, and Camryn Gilliam, and Lindsi, Elias, Wyatt, and Lillian Arnold.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Poyner; stepfather, Don Hardin; and one granddaughter, Sydney Reagan.

Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:15 p.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, December 20th, at Linwood Cemetery, with Jon Binkley and Michael Cox officiating. The procession will leave Mitchell Funeral Home at 1:15 p.m., Monday.

Charles Jacob Ashabranner
(May 15, 1927 - October 12, 2007)

Charles Jacob Ashabranner, 80, of Paragould, died October 12, 2007 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. Born May 15, 1927 at Blytheville, he was a retired farmer and factory worker and a member of Center Hill Church of Christ.

He is survived by one son, Gaylon Ashabranner, and his wife, Reba, of Paragould; one brother, Billy Ashabranner of St. Peters, Missouri, and one sister, Helen Brown of Jonesboro.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lou Anna Ashabranner; his wife, Ruth Ashabranner, one brother, Alfred Glen Ashabranner, and two sisters, Hazel Riggs and Sarah Geneva Louise Reese.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 16, 2:00 P. M. at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Jon Binkley officiating. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday, 6:00 P. M. until 9:00 P. M. at Mitchell Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Billy Ashabranner, Arthur Reese, Eddie Reese, Don Wooldridge, Bob Wooldridge, and Neal Wooldridge.

Peggy Joyce Huckabee
(May 12, 1943 - March 28, 2007)
Peggy Joyce Huckabee, 63, of Arbyrd, died Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center, Kennett. Born May 12, 1943, in East St. Louis, Illinois, Mrs. Huckabee was a homemaker.

Survivors include four sons, Larry Huckabee, Edgar Huckabee, and Thomas Huckabee, all of Arbyrd, and David Huckabee of St. Petersburg, Florida; two daughters, Pam Carmichael of Cardwell, and Debra Nyitrai of Ash Flat. She is also survived by two brothers, Bob Bateman, Ronald Bateman; and three sisters, Shirley Gilliam, Barbara Franklin and Eithel Rippy, all of Paragould; twelve grandchildren; and by six great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Huckabee; one son, Roger Huckabee; and by her parents, Virgel and Ola Mae Bateman.

Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00 p.m., Thursday, at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 30th, at New Friendship Cemetery. The procession will leave Mitchell Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m., Friday.

Jackson Cooper Danley
(November 15, 2006 - January 18, 2007)

Our precious baby, Jackson Cooper Danley went to be with our Heavenly Father on January 18, 2007 at the age of two months and three days. Jackson was born on November 15, 2006 to the proud parents James Cordell Danley and Lyndsay Michelle Burkhart.

He is also survived by maternal grandmother Cathy Baldridge Burkhart, a special friend, Wayne Howard and Uncle Garrett Burkhart all of Paragould. Maternal grandfather, Mike Burkhart and wife Lisa of Henderson, Arkansas. His paternal grandparents, Kim Horrell Danley of Paragould and Jimmy Danley of Black Rock, Arkansas, maternal great grandparents: Jack and Mildred Burkhart of West Plaines, Missouri, maternal great grandparents Ruby Baldridge and the late V.L. Baldridge. Paternal great grandparents Clella and Lee Horrell, Emma Dell and James Danley all of Paragould, several loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, January 22nd at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jerry Clements officiating. Burial will follow in the Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Sunday, January 21st at the Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould.

Jacob Lynn Hayes
(April 17, 1953 - June 22, 2007)

Jacob Lynn Hayes, 54, of Paragould died Friday, June 22, 2007, at Memphis Regional Medical Center from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was a tool and die maker at Hytrol in Jonesboro, for 32 years, and a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Paragould.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Hayes of the home; two sons, Michael Hayes and David Hayes, both of Carbondale, Illinois; two daughters: Melissa Ham of Jayess, Mississippi, Melynda Hatcher of Royalton, Illinois; and one stepson, Gary Yarbrough of Louisville, Kentucky. He is also survived by five brothers, Joe Hayes, Jerry Hayes, Phillip Hayes, and Bill Hayes, all of Paragould, Richard Hayes of Sebring, Florida; four sisters, Shelby O’Dell and Lucille Jackson, both of Paragould, Becky Byram of Holland, Missouri, Gwenda Tipton of Grenada, Mississippi; six grandchildren and by a host of friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Goldie Hayes; and one brother, Lavaughan Hayes.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Monday, at the First United Pentecostal Church on Linwood Drive with Rev. James Warbington and Rev. David Tipton officiating. Burial will follow in Brown’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M to 9:00 P.M. Sunday, at the Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould.

Pallbearers will include Eddie Anderson, Dewayne Cooper, Jimmy Gazaway, Jerry Hancock, Tommy Haynes and Johnny Heritage.

Gary Wayne Jackson
(February 1, 1950 - April 11, 2007)

Gary Wayne Jackson, 57, of Orange, California, formerly of Paragould, died Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at Paso Robles, California.

Born February 1, 1950, in Paragould, Mr. Jackson was a Marine Corps veteran, and vice president of Deb Construction Company.

He is survived by two brothers, Barry Don Jackson of Paragould, and Robert Lester Jackson of Louisiana; two sisters, Leslie Throesch of Pocahontas, and Rhonda Swink of Imboden; his former wife, Dewanna Jackson of Tennessee; two stepsons, Victor Borrego of Tennessee, and Jason Borrego of California; and by one step granddaughter, Sydney Elizabeth Borrego.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Imogene Jackson.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 15th, at 1:00 p.m. with a memorial service immediately following at 2:00 p.m., at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Paragould.

Julia Walters Jackson
(July 15, 1904 - November 27, 2007)

Julia Bruce Walters Jackson, 103, of Paragould, died Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.

Born July 15, 1904, to Jesse Edward and Lottie Ann Walters in Paducah, Kentucky, the family moved to Paragould in 1911. Julia married Charles Edward Jackson on August 12, 1922, and continued to reside in Paragould.

Julia was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Paragould, the Greene County Historical and Genealogical Society, Chamber of Commerce, the Red Cross, and American Legion. She was a member of the Eastern Star and a Mother Advisor to the Rainbow Girls. She was very active in the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center Auxiliary for over fifty years.

Julia loved to play bridge and taught it at one time. In 1998, she was honored as the Grand Marshall of the Paragould Christmas parade.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Evelyn “Buster” Miller of Midland, Texas; five grandchildren, Bob Miller, Kathy Tipton, Mary Ann Rooney, Matthew Jackson, and Kim Jespersen. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Jackson; and by one son, Robert E. Jackson.

Visitation will be Friday, 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Funeral service will be 10:30 A. M., Saturday, December 1st, at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Block, Jeff Block, Alfred Herget, Herb Bland, Freddie Boone, Roy McSpadden, and Curtis Davenport.

Patricia Mae Jackson
(September 28, 1939 - September 1, 2007)

Patricia Mae Jackson, 67 of Paragould, went to be with the Lord on September 1, 2007 at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. She was born on September 28, 1939. Mrs. Jackson was a long time member of Brown’s Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years Bobby Jackson, two sons and daughter-in-laws: Sam and Lola Jackson, Bill and Elizabeth Jackson all of Paragould, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by: her parents: Felix and Delilah Foster.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at the Brown’s Chapel Baptist Church with Royce Boling officiating; burial will follow in the Brown’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. Tuesday until service time at the Brown’s Chapel Baptist Church. Mitchell Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

Harriet Brasher Lacy
(September 2, 1937 - February 26, 2007)
HARRIET BRASHER LACY, 69, of Smiths Grove, Kentucky, formerly of Lafe, died Monday, February 26, 2007, in Glasgow, Kentucky.

Born September 2, 1937, in Lafe, Mrs. Lacy was a retired registered nurse, and a member of the Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Lacy of Smiths Grove, Kentucky; two sons, Jerry Lacy of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Jeff Lacy of Shreveport, Louisiana; one brother, Ralph Brasher of Paragould; three sisters, Mary Dowler and Martha Willis, both of Lafe; and Tillie Henderson of Cape Canaveral, Florida; and by five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Allen Brasher, Sr., and Ida Lauchstaedt Brasher; and by one brother, Robert Allen Brasher, Jr.

Funeral services will be 10:30 A. M., Friday, March 2nd, at the St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lafe, with Curt Dwyer officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, from 5:00-8:00 P. M. at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.

Her nephews, Greg Brasher, Blake Brasher, Philip Brasher, Chris Brasher, Bert Dowler, David Dowler, and Larry Willis will serve as pallbearers.

Lisa Mae Leach
(August 5, 1965 - February 2, 2007)

Lisa Mae Leach, 41 of Paragould died Friday, February 2, 2007 at her residence. Mrs. Leach was born on August 5, 1965 in Michigan, she was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include: her husband: Tony Scott Leach of the home, one son: Anthony Cline of Paragould, one step son: Joshua Scott Leach of Brookland, Arkansas, two brothers: Paul Adams, Jeff Adams both Paragould, two sisters: Frances Bass and Renae Lively both of Paragould, one step grandchild: Hunter Leach.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Randy Baily officiating, burial will follow at the Brown’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon Monday until service time.

Pallbearers will include: Mark Holland, Jonathan Adams, Billy Lively, Randy Lively, James Chadwick and Harold Chadwick.

Horace A. Mitchem
(February 20, 1929 - August 24, 2007)

Horace A. Mitchem, 78, of Paragould, went to be with our Lord on August 24, 2007, in Paragould. He was born February 20, 1929, in Walnut Ridge, the son of Willie L. Mitchem and Maudie Mitchell Mitchem King and stepson of Arthur Joy King

Mr. Mitchem was a long standing member of the Western Cherokee Nation of Arkansas and Missouri; and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents, Joe and Emma Wagnon Mitchell; his paternal grandparents, Sam and Sarah Mitchem; and by five brothers, Earnest Mitchem, A. J. King, Lonnie King, Ervin King and John A. King.

He is survived by his children, Robby C. Mitchem of Paragould, Sandra Bogan of Brookland, Robert L. Mitchem of Paragould, Thomas Mitchem of Paragould, Lynda Mitchem Cooper of Jonesboro, Jerry Dill of Paragould, Suzanne Elrod of Dice; a sister, Asalee Mitchem Bolick of Lafe; 53 grandchildren and great grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 26th, at Mitchell Funeral Home. A Memorial service will be conducted Sunday, at 3:00 p.m., in the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Dennis Strope officiating.

Jack Rupert Thomen
(April 7, 1929 - March 1, 2007)

Jack Rupert Thomen, 77, of Delaplaine, died Thursday, March 1, 2007, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. Born April 7, 1929, in Delaplaine, he retired from L. A. Darling and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Enid Marie Thomen of Little Rock; four sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Stephanie Thomen of Lucedale, Mississippi, Gary and Carolyn Thomen of Houston, Texas, Larry and Cynthia Thomen of Haltom City, Texas, and Roger Thomen of Delaplaine. He is also survived by two daughters, Brenda Willett and her husband, Ron, of North Little Rock, Debra Thomen of Sherwood, Arkansas; one brother, William “Bill” Thomen of Conway; five grandchildren; and by five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W. E. and Pearl Thomen; seven brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 P.M. Monday, March 5th, at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, Paragould, with Rick Ethridge officiating. Burial will follow at the Jones Ridge Cemetery, Delaplaine. Close friends will serve as pallbearers.

Chester William Wallace
(August 22, 1945 - March 11, 2007)

Chester William Wallace, 61, of Paragould, died Sunday, March 11, 2007, at his residence.

An Army Vietnam veteran, Mr. Wallace was a former factory worker and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva Diann Wallace of the home; two sons, Kevin Hollis of Paragould, and Chester William Wallace, Jr. of Florida; one stepson, Rebel Howell; and three stepdaughters, Mickie Howell, Samantha Morris, and Tina Rodriguez, all of Paragould. He is also survived by one sister, Stella Louise Smith, and one half-brother, Bobby Ciscell, both of Paragould; and by ten grandchildren. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Wednesday, at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 14th, at Finch Cemetery, with Dennis Scudder officiating.

Gladys Laverne Songer
(September 22, 1932 - May 21, 2007)

Gladys Laverne Songer, 74, of Paragould, died Monday, May 21, 2007, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. Born September 22, 1932, in Bono, Mrs. Songer was a homemaker and a member of Paragould Soul’s Harbor Full Gospel Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Maudie Hancock; and by three brothers, Cleveland, Carl, and Kenny.

Survivors include her husband, Earl Songer of the home; one son, Kevin Hancock of Paragould; two brothers, Jerry Hancock of Paragould, Johnny Hancock of Corning; three grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Visitation will be Wednesday at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould, from 6:00-9:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 24th, at Paragould Soul’s Harbor Church, with Carter Grindstaff and David Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Lorado Cemetery.

Maddox Blaize Thomason
(March 10, 2007 - March 10, 2007)

Maddox Blaize Thomason, of Paragould, was born and died Saturday, March 10, 2007, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.

Survivors include his parents, Zachary and Jamie Cheshire Thomason; two brothers, Colton and Hayden Thomason; and two sisters, Chloe and Mackenzie Thomason, all of Paragould. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Joe W. and Lee Cheshire; paternal grandparents, Mike and Spring Thomason, all of Paragould; maternal great grandmother, Frankie D. Cheshire of Rector; aunts and uncles, Jackie and Sean Straub, Kelli and Drew Voss; and cousins, Jasmine Straub, Zander Voss, and Jade Voss all of Paragould. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Joe T. Cheshire, Gene and Norma Jean Butler, and Rev. C.E. and Arlene Thomason.

Graveside services will be 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, March 14th, at Shiloh Cemetery, with Bob Hager officiating. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery for the service. There will be no visitation. Mitchell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Inas Miriam Treadway
(January 9, 1920 - January 31, 2007)

Inas Miriam Treadway, 87, of Paragould, died Wednesday, January 31, 2007, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.

A lifelong resident of Greene County, she retired from Emerson Electric and was a member of Pine Knott Church of Christ.

Mrs. Treadway is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, George and Melba Treadway of Carlisle, Arkansas, Tommy and Betty Treadway of Berry, Alabama; and one daughter and son-in-law, Nadine & Jacksie Jamison of Oak Grove Heights. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Jacksie Dean Jamison and Darron Jamison of Paragould, Russ Treadway of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Sheila Lea of Carlisle, and Tonya Martin of Little Rock; seven great grandchildren; and by one great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Anna Mae Williams; her husband, Lawrence Treadway; one son, Jim Treadway; one brother, Richard Williams; and by one sister, Dorothy Miller

Visitation will be Thursday, 6:00 P. M. until 9:00 P. M. at Mitchell Funeral Home of Paragould.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 2nd, 2:00 P. M. at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Phillip Swindle officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Knott Cemetery.

Jacksie Dean Jamison, Darron Jamison, Jarred Jamison, Blake Jamison, Tyler Jamison, Jordan Jamison, and Russ Treadway will serve as pallbearers.

Bradley Scott Latham
(July 8, 1969 - March 1, 2007)

Bradley Scott Latham, 37, of Beech Grove, died Thursday, March 1, 2007, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Survivors are his wife, Ellice Ann Latham; his son, Dylan Scott Latham, and daughter, Anna Marie Latham, all of the home. He is also survived by his father, Johnny Mac Latham; his mother, Judy Diane Latham, both of Beech Grove; his brother, Bryan Stuart Latham of Fairfax, Virginia; his maternal grandparents, Herman and Elgareda Williams of Beech Grove.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Herman and Gladys Latham.

Brad was a member of Evening Star Church of Christ. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast.

Brad was an employee of Gateway Engineering in Jonesboro. He worked through contract at Kraft Foods, Post Division. Brad had many friends and loved ones, and will be greatly missed. “Loved by all, Honored by many”.

Visitation will be at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould, from 6:00-9:00 p.m., Sunday.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, March 5th, graveside at Morrow Cemetery with Bud Whitmire officiating. The procession will leave Mitchell Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m., Monday. All bikers are welcome. Following the service, food will be served at the Commissary Church of Christ.

Shane Jetton, Shane Henson, Tony Carey, Shannon Henson, Terry Don Norwood, Heath Brown, Tim Smith and Randy Mauch will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Gordon, Chan Boggs, Brad Greathouse, and Jerry Naylor.

Nadean Roxie Hickson
(October 7, 1920 - July 15, 2007)

Nadean Roxie Hickson, 86, of Paragould, died Sunday, July 15, 2007, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. She was a retired employee of Arkansas Methodist Hospital, and a member of River of Life United Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Micki Fraine of Knobel, Sceles Hall of Paragould, Shirley Crafton of Grove, Oklahoma, and Joyce Greer of Piggott; fifteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Hickson; her parents, John and Brady Eaton; one son, Danny Hickson; three brothers, Cecil, Otis and Thurman Eaton; five sisters, Macy Mansker, Sarah Underwood, Thelma Williams, Velma Dees, and Imogene Green; and by one grandson, Rodney Cody.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-1:45 p.m., Tuesday, at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 17th, at Linwood Cemetery, with Floyd Ryles officiating.

Tommy Joe Rogers, Jr., Gary Rogers, Keith Duelos, Zachary Rogers, Tony Hall and Olen Ervin will serve as pallbearers.

Nadine Gazaway
(January 5, 1921 - April 28, 2007)

Nadine Gazaway, 86, of Paragould, died Saturday, April 28, 2007, at Greene Acres Nursing Home. Born January 5, 1921, in Mounds, Oklahoma, she was a homemaker and of the Assembly of God faith.

Survivors include two daughters, Marsha Lindsey of Henderson, Nevada, and Bonnie Harp of St. Louis. Mrs. Gazaway is also survived by one stepson, Jim Gazaway of Festus, Missouri; two stepdaughters, Violet England of Paragould, and Shirley Morton of Doniphan, Missouri; one sister, Cloetta Hubbs of St. Louis; and by two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Myrtle Hurt; and by her husband, Woodrow Gazaway, March 23, 2007.

Visitation will be Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Funeral services will be 10: 30 A.M. Tuesday, May 1st, in the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, with Larry McFadden officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Gail Broadwater
(July 2, 1959 - June 21, 2007)

Gail Broadwater, 47, of Paragould, died Thursday, June 21, 2007, at her residence.

Born July 2, 1959, in Walnut Ridge, Mrs. Broadwater was a quilter and the business manager for Abilities Unlimited. She was a member of New Haven Baptist Church.

Survivors include her mother, Norma Jean Counce of Hoxie; two sons, Jerry Coborn of Dixon, Missouri, Randy Broadwater of Paragould; and two daughters, Carol Surber of Paragould, and Sara Faber of Walnut Ridge. She is also survived by two brothers, Daniel Counce of Hoxie, Richard Counce of Gainesville; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Counce; and by her husband, Lonnie Broadwater.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 23rd, at New Haven Baptist Church, Paragould, with Ron Pickney officiating. Burial will follow in the Whittaker Cemetery, under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 a.m., Saturday until service time.

Gloria Jean Chaffin
(October 10, 1945 - January 23, 2007)

Gloria Jean Chaffin, 61, of Paragould, died Tuesday, January 23, 2007, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.

A homemaker, she was born October 10, 1945, in Paragould.

Survivors include two sons, Shane Chaffin of Paragould, Steven Chaffin of Batesville; one daughter, Janet Chaffin of Paragould; and the father of her children, Charles Chaffin of Paragould. She is also survived by two brothers, Dennis Janes of Little Rock, Jerry Don Janes of O’Fallon, Missouri; one sister, Janet Thompson of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and by four grandchildren.

Mrs. Chaffin was preceded in death by her grandparents who raised her, John “Pop” Schultz and Lizzie “Granny” Schultz; her mother, Alyene Janes; and by one son, Rodney Chaffin.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Graveside service will be Friday, January 26th, 1:30 P.M. at New Friendship with Junior Vester officiating.

Cynthia Ann Gage
(August 16, 1963 - August 28, 2007)

Cynthia Ann Gage, 44, of Paragould, died Tuesday, August 28, 2007, at her residence. She was born in Paragould, August 16, 1963, and was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Tiffany Gage; one brother, Rod Church; two sisters, Melissa Alsup and Krickett Lenderman; and by one granddaughter, Madison Gage, all of Paragould.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Margie Church.

Visitation will be Thursday, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 31st, graveside, at Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
