E.J. STEIN OF BATESVILLE , ARK. IS IN PARAGOULD TODAY FOR THE PURPOSE OF ORGANISING A CAMP OF MODERN WOODMEN . MR. STEIN CAME HERE FOUR WEKS AGO AND HAS BEEN WORKING FOR THE ORGANIZATION OF A UNITED CLASSAND HAS SUCCEEDED IN ENLISTING THIRTY-TWO CANDIDATES FOR INITIATION. A MEETING WILL BE HELD IN MACK'S HALL MONDAY AT WHICH TIME A CAMP OF MODERN WOODMEN WILL BE INSTITUTED.

APPLICATIONS HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE HEAD CLERK AND CONSUL AT ROCK ISLAND , ILL. FOR A LOCAL CHARTER , WHICH IT IS HOPED WILL BE HERE MONDAY . SHOULD THE CHARTER COME BY THAT TIME THE ENTIRE CLASS OF THIRTY TWO WILL BE INITIATED , THREE REGULAR DEGREES TO BE CONFERRED . THE DEGREE WORK WILL BE CONFERRED BY MR. STEIN , BUT WILL LATER BE RE-EXEMPLIFIED BY THE CARDWELL , MO. TEAM.

THERE ARE ABOUT FIFTY OLD MEMBERS OF THE SOCIETY LIVING IN AND ABOUT PARAGOULD , WHO WILL PROBABLY BE AFFLILIATED WITH THE PROPOSED CAMP WHEN THE ORGANIZATION IS PERFECTED . WHILE THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A MODERN WOODMEN CAMP IN PARAGOULD , MEMBERS FROM OTHER CAMPS HAVE SETTLED HERE , THEIR DUES AND STANDING HAVING BEEN MAINTAINED IN OTHER CITIES . THESE WITH THE NEW MEMBERS WILL CONSTITUTE A TOTAL MEMBERSHIP OF ABOUT EIGHTY .

AT MONDAY NIGHT'S MEETING ARRANGEMENTS WILL BE MADE TO SECURE GEO. RILEY , NATIONAL LECTURER FOR THE M.W. A. TO DELIVER A PUBLIC LECTURE HERE ON THE 28TH OF SEPTEMBER . MR. RILEY'S LECTURE WILL BE ON THE GREAT WHITE PLAGUE AND THE METHODS THAT ARE BEING EMPLOYED TO EXTERMINATE THE DISEASE. A SANITORIUM IS BEING MAINTAINED AT COLORADO SPRINGS FOR THE FREE TREATMENT OF MEMBERS OF THE ORGANIZATION , AND THE RESULTS THAT HAVE ATTENDED THE OPEN AIR CURE WILL BE FULLY EXPLAINED .

HARDESTY , PHYSICIAN ; B.B. THOMPSON , W.A. SMITH AND W.F. CAUDLE , TRUSTEES ; JOHN HART , E.R. ALSEY , F.B. CLIPPARD AND B.B. THOMPSON WERE APPOINTED A COMMITTEE TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR A LECTURE GIVEN ON SEPTEMBER 28TH .
