SCHEDULES RESUMED ON THE RAILROADS
COTTON BELT , IRON MOUTAIN AND P.S.E. ARE AGAIN MAKING THEIR REGULAR RUNS
DAMAGED TRACKS ARE REPAIRED
THE DAMAGE WAS DONE TO THE RAILROADS BY FLOOD WATERS HAS BY NO MEANS BEEN ENTIRELY RELIEVED , LARGE FORCES OF MEN ARE AT ON THE WRECKED STRETCHES OF TRACK REPAIRING THE MISCHIEF. THE TRAINS AR RUN SLOWLY OVER THE DANGEROUS PLACES AND THE PASSENGERS ARE STILL RUNNING BEHIND TIME .
THE P.S.E. IS ON ITS REGULAR RUN TODAY FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE THE FLODD . THE TRACK WAS ALMOST DEMOLISHED FROM PARAGOULD TO BERTIG . PEOPLE LIVING AT POINTS ALONG THE ROUTE OF THE P.S.E. WERE INDEED VERY HAPPY WHEN THE P.S.E. BACKED INTO THE UNION STATION . THEY HAD BEEN THERE SINCE MONDAY , NOT BEING ABLE TO GET A TRAIN AND NOT ABLE TO GET WORD HOME.
SUPT. E.A. PECK OF THE COTTON BELT WAS HERE FROM THE NIGHT OF THE FLOOD TILL WEDNESDAY OVERSEEING THE WORK OF REPAIR ON THE MAIN LINE AND ALSO HANDLING THE TRAFFIC.
