JONESBORO, SEPT. 6 - BEFORE A LARGE LABOR DAY CROWD , IT BEING KNOWN AS "RED WELCH'S DAY " IN HONOR OF THE RETURN OF THIS FAST PLAYER , THE LOCALS GAVE PARAGOULD A DEFEAT. THE PITCHING HONORS WERE EVENLY DIVIDED , DEARDORFF HAVING A SLIGHT ADVANTAGE .

THE FEATURE WERE THE BATTING OF GRAVES AND THE ALL AROUND PLAYING OF WELCH AND THAT OF EACH LOCAL PLAYER NOT AND ERROR BEING MARKED AGAINST THEM, THE GAME WAS PLAYED IN FAST TIME , ONE HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTES .
