THE COURSE IS DESIGNED TO PREPARE SELECT OFFICERS FOR DUTY AS COMMANDERS AND GENERAL STAFF OFFICERS AT DIVISION , CORPS AND FIELD ARMY LEVELS . COLONEL PARTAIN IS A 1947 GRADUATE OF WESTERN MILITARY ACADEMY IN ALTON , ILL. AND A 1951 GRADUATE OF THE U.S. MILITARY ACADEMY IN WEST POINT , N.Y.

AIRMAN WOOD HAS BEEN SELECTED FOR TECHNICAL TRAINING AS AN AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST AT THE AIR TRAINING COMMAND SCHOOL AT AMARILLO AFB , TEX. HIS NEW UNIT IS PART OF THE VAST ATC SYSTEM WHICH TRAINS AIRMEN AND OFFICERS IN THE DIVERSE SKILLS REQUIRED BY THE NATION'S AREOSPACE FORCE .

ARMY PFC TOMMY C. SANFORD , 24 , WHOSE WIFE , BETTY BETTY LIVES IN CARAWAY AND OTHER MEMBERS OF COMPANY A. 1ST SUPPLY AND TRANSPORT BATTALION 1ST INFANTRY DIVISION SERVED AS DRIVING INSTRUCTORS AT FORT RILEY , KAN , MAY 26 - JUNE 19 .

SANFORD FAMILIARIZED MEN OF THE DIVISION WITH THE ARMY'S NEW QUARTER TON VEHICLE WHICH HAS DIFFERENT HANDLING CHARACTERISTICS THAN ITS PREDECESSOR .

THE SON OF MR. AND MRS. JAMES T. SANFORD , NEW ALBANY , MISS. HE ENTERED THE ARMY LAST AUGUST AND COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING AT FORT KNOX , KY.
