MARK ROGERS FOUND GUILTY AT BLYTHEVILLE TWO OTHERS ARE AWAITING TRIAL

BLYTHEVILLE , MARCH 25 - GUILTY ON THREE COUNTS OF NIGHT RIDING , WAS THE VERDICT RETURNED IN 25 MINUTES BY A JURY TUESDAY IN THE CASE OF MARK ROGERS , 28 , WHITE FARMER ON TRIAL BEFORE JUDGE W.J. DRIVER.

THE FINAL DISPOSITION OF HIS CASE NOW RESTS WITH THE COURT. SEVEN YEARS IN THE MAXIMUM SENTENCE THAT CAN BE AFFIXED.

WITH JESSE SWAFFORD AND GILES SIMPSON , ROGERS WAS ARRESTED FOLLOWING THE INTIMIDATION OF NEGROES NEAR OSCEOLA LAST TUESDAY. SWAFFORD'S TESTIMONY LED TO THE CONVICTION . HE WILL PLEAD GUILTY WHEN HIS CASE COMES UP , HE SAYS.

GILES SIMPSON , WHO GOES ON TRIAL TODAY , SAYS HE WILL INCRIMINATE OTHERS IF HIS TRIAL RESULTS IN A CONVICTION. IT IS SAID THAT THE THREE POSTED NOTICES WARNING THE NEGROES TO LEAVE THE COUNTRY NEAR OSCEOLA.
