SOMETIME HAS PASSED SINCE OUR LAST LETTER TO THE SOLIPHONE , BUT IF THE EDITOR WILL KINDLY PARDON THIS NEGLIGENCE , IN THE FUTURE THERE SHALL BE NO SUCH FAILURES UNLESS HINDERED BY SICKNESS.

MRS. LASWELL HAS RETURNED HOME FROM AN EXTENDED VISIT TO HER MOTHER AND OTHER RELATIVES IN TENNESSEE.

MR. AND MRS. CHARLIE PANNEL ARE MOVING IN THE NEW RESIDENCE LATELY ERECTED ON THE LASWELL FARM.

VERA BALDRIDGE HAS RETURNED FROM AN EXTENDED VISIT TO FRIENDS IN KENTUCKY.

J.B. STUTES LEFT FOR FAYETTEVILLE SATURDAY EVENING WHERE HE WILL RESUME HIS SCHOOL WORK AFTER HAVING SPENT THE HOLIDAYS WITH HOME FOLKS.

MR. AND MRS. MONROE AGEE VISITED FRIENDS IN EAST BOTTOM LAST WEEK.

MR. AND MRS. LUTHER HENDRIX , OF OBION COUNTY , TENN. ARE HERE ON A VISIT TO MR. HENDRIX'S PARENTS.

JOHN PENNEY AND HIS ESTIMABLE FAMILY HAVE MOVED FROM OUR NEIGHBORHOOD TO THE KELLUM FARM IN THE UNITY NEIGHBORHOOD . WE REGRET VERY MUCH TO LOSE THEM , BUT WISH THEM MUCH SUCCESS AND MANY FRIENDS IN THEIR NEW HOME.

MR. AND MRS. E.V. STIMSON HAVE GONE TO HOUSEKEEPING AND ARE OCCUPYING THE HOUSE ON MR. STIMSON'S FATHER'S FARM . MRS. DANCY WHO HAS BEEN VERY SICK IS SLOWLY IMPROVING.

MR. BISHOP OF HOOKER'S SWITCH VISITED FRIENDS IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD LAST SUNDAY.

WE HAVE BEEN HAVING THE COLDEST WEATHER THE LAST THREE DAYS WE HAVE HAD IN A LONG TIME.

THERE IS BUT LITTLE WORK BEING DONE NOW OWING TO THE EXTREME COLD WEATHER.

SEVERAL CASES OF SICKNESS IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD ARE REPORTED , MOSTLY MUMPS AND LA GRIPPE.

MRS CLARA STIMPSON HAS THE MUMPS . ALSO MISS IRVIE STIMPSON.

MRS. BOWIS HAS A RIGHT SEVERE CASE OF RHEUMATISM.

FRED HENDRIX OF OBION , TENN., IS VISITING HIS UNCLE W.F. HENDRIX THIS WEEK.

THERE WAS A MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT AT MR. HAYGOOD'S SATURDAY NIGHT , THERE BEING A LARGE CROWD PRESENT AND ALL HAD A VERY ENJOYABLE TIME.

JOHN ACTION OF PARAGOULD ATTENDED THE MUSICAL SATURDAY NIGHT.

SEVERAL OF OUR CITIZENS HAD TO GO TO PARAGOULD TO ATTEND COURT TODAY.

JAS. BOONE AND MARION FUTRELL OF PARAGOULD SPENT LAST THURSDAY WITH J.R. MILLER . THEY DROVE OUT BIRD HUNTING BUT OWING TO THE HIGH WIND DID NOT HAVE THE LUCK THEY ANTICIPATED .

THE TWO LITTLE CHILDREN OF MR. BREWER HAVE BEEN QUITE SICK BUT ARE SOME BETTER NOW.

THE MAD DOG SCARE HAS REACHED OUR NEIGHBORHOOD MR. DAUGHTRY HAD A VERY VALUABLE DOG TO GO MAD LAST WEEK BUT HE HAD HIM KILLED BEFORE HE GOT THE CHANCE TO DO ANY HARM.

MR. HARDEE AND FAMILY HAVE MOVED TO THE BOTTOMS AND MR. MARTIN OF UNITY NEIGHBORHOOD HAS MOVED IN THE HOUSE THEY VACATED.

THE DEATH ANGEL HAS AGAIN VISITED OUR NEIGHBORHOOD AND PLUCKED FROM THE HOME OF W.F. HENDRIX AND HIS WIFE THEIR SON LEWIS.

HE HAD BEEN SICK FOR ABOUT TEN DAYS WITH PNEUMONIA . HE WAS VERY BAD FROM THE FIRST OF HIS SICKNESS AND ON SATURDAY EVENING THE SLENDAR CORD OF LIFE WAS BROKEN AND LEWIS PASSED AWAY . HE WAS IN HIS FIFTEENTH YEAR AND WAS A DUTIFUL SON AND IT SEEMS SO HARD FOR ONE SO YOUNG TO HAVE TO DIE, BUT GOD IN HIS INFINITE WISDOM DOETH ALL THINGS FOR THE BEST.

THE BEREAVED PARENTS , BROTHERS AND SISTERS HAVE OUR HEART FELT SYMPATHY. AND MAY GOD IN HIS LOVE AND MERCY HEAL THEIR WOUNDED HEARTS AND LEAD THEM ALL AN UNBROKEN FAMILY TO THE BLESSED HOME ABOVE.

OAK GROVE

ALFRED WALDEN COMMENCED TEACHING HIS SECOND TERM OF SCHOOL AT THIS PLACE THIS WEEK. MR. WALDEN IS A VERY SUCCESSFUL TEACHER AND IS HELD IN VERY HIGH ESTEEM BY PARENTS AND SCHOLARS . THIS IS HIS HOME DISTRICT AND HE IS VERY WELL KNOWN , HAVING BEEN RAISED IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD.

MR. BALDRIDGE , LATE OF MARTIN , TENN. HAS MOVED IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD . HE IS OCCUPYING THE RESIDENCE VACATED BY L.B. HOIFIELD UNTIL HIS RENTERS MOVE . THEN HE WILL MOVE TO HIS FARM WHICH HE PURCHASED FROM MR. TANNER.

J.R. MILLER IS SELLING SOME FINE APPLES HE GATHERED FROM HIS YOUNG ORCHARD .

MR. AND MRS. W.R. WEATHERLY OF HALLIDAY VISITED AT M.L. SAMMONS , SUNDAY.

MISSES LULA AND TULA BURTON AND AMY SAMMONS SPENT THE DAY WITH MISS ELSIE LECORNU , SUNDAY.

MR. AND MRS. FRED WALDEN WERE THE GUESTS OF E.C. WALDEN , SUNDAY.

MR. AND MRS. W.C. BURTON VISITED RELATIVES , LAST WEEK AT MARMADUKE.

MRS. HENDRIX AND SON , OF OBION , TENN. RETURNED HOME LAST WEEK AFTER VISITING TO THE FAMILY OF FRANK HENDRIX .

MR. AND MRS. HARRY WALDEN WENT TO BETHEL SUNDAY TO MR. AND MRS. ANDERSON'S FOR A VISIT.

GEORGE SIMPSON AND FAMILY OF HURRICANE NEIGHBORHOOD VISITED SUNDAY WITH E.C. WALDEN'S .
