SHE TURNED TO WAKE HER SISTER AND THE CHILDREN CLAIM THAT A MAN WAS STANDING OVER THEIR BED . THE CHILDREN'S HAIR WAS SLASHED FROM THEIR HEADS AS IF A KNIFE HAD BEEN USED . THEIR SCREAMS WOKE THEIR PARENTS BUT BY THE TIME ASSISTANCE REACHED THEM WHO EVER HAD CUT THE HAIR FROM THE GIRLS HEADS HAD LEFT THROUGH THE BACK DOOR WHERE ENTREE HAD BEEN GAINED BY PRYING THE HOOK FROM THE SCREEN DOOR.

IN THE DINING ROOM ON THE FLOOR SLIVERS AND A FEW DISHES WERE FOUND BUT NOTHING ELSE THAT MR. AND MRS. HOLCOMB COULD FIND WAS TAKEN FROM THE HOUSE. THE CHILDREN WERE BADLY FRIGHTNED OVER THE WHOLE AFFAIR.
