PARAGOULD WITNESSED ANOTHER BOOZE SMASHING EVENT YESTERDAY . THE FIRST IN FIVE YEARS . THE BOOZE DESTROYED WAS CAPTURED IN A RAID ON EAST SIDE RESIDENCE ONE NIGHT RECENTLY .

THE BOOZE WAS IN A CASE INTENDED FOR TWELVE QUARTS , BUT THREE OF BOTTLES WERE MISSING WHEN THE OFFICERS RAIDED . THE NINE QUARTS WERE LOCKED IN A CELL AT THE CITY PRISON PENDING AN INVESTIGATION , WHICH WAS ANNOUNCED YESTERDAY AFTERNOON. THE OWNER OF THE RESIDENCE WHERE THE BOOZE WAS CAPTURED DISCLAIMED OWNERSHIP THROUGH HIS ATTORNEY , D.G. BEAUCHAMP .

AS NO CLAIMANTS APPEARD ON THE SCENE JUDGE CRAIG ORDERED THAT THE BOOZE BE DESTROYED . IN COMPLIANCE WITH THIS ORDER CHIEF ZEIGLER ASSISTED BY SERGEANT SMITH REMOVED THE CASE OF BOZE TO THE REAR OF THE CITY HALL AND THERE PROCEEDED TO SMASH THE BOTTLES OF VILE STUFF WHILE A LARGE CROWD LOOKED ON . FEARING THAT SOME ' BOOZE HISTERS' MIGHT APPEAR WITH QUILLS AND FILL UP FROM THE SMALL STREAM MADE DURING THE SMASHING PROCESS . CHIEF ZEIGLER USED FURTHER PRECAUTION MADE A FIRE AND BURNED THE STUFF.

ALTHOUGH NO ONE CLAIMED OWNERSHIP TO THE MYSTERY CASE OF BOOZE , CHIEF ZEIGLER WILL INVESTIGATE THE MATTER FURTHER.
