BROTHER COBB VISITS

REV. J.D.C. COBB OF JONESBORO IS A VISITOR IN THE CITY AND IS RECEIVING THE GLAD HAND FROM HIS MANY OLD FRIENDS WHO ARE ALWAYS GLAD TO SEE HIM.

BRO. COBB IS NOW 70 YEARS OF AGE, BUT HIS GENERAL HEALTH IS EXCELLENT AND EXCEPTING A HURT WHICH HE RECEIVED SOME THREE YEARS AGO BEING RUN OVER BY A COW IS ACTIVE FOR A MAN OF HIS AGE.

HE WAS ONE OF THE FIRST NEWSPAPER MEN IN GREENE COUNTY, HAVING BEGUN THE PUBLICATION OF THE TIMES AT GAINESVILLE , AT THIS COUNTY, IN 1874 . LATER HE MOVED THE PLANT TO JONESBORO , WHERE HE WAS QUITE SUCCESSFUL AND FINDS HIMSELF WITH A COMPETENCY IN HIS OLD AGE. HE QUIT THE NEWSPAPER BUSINESS SEVERAL YEARS AGO BUT STILL LIKES TO HANG AROUND WHERE HE CAN SMELL PRINTERS AND HEAR THE HUM OF THE PRINTING PRESSES.

BRO. COBB'S LONG AND HONORABLE CAREER AS AN EDITOR AND A MINISTER IN NORTHEAST ARKANSAS IS AN INFLUENCE FOR GOOD THAT WILL LIVE AFTER HIM. WHILE IN THE CITY HE PAID THE SOLIPHONE AN APPRECIATED CALL.

HE WILL RETURN TO JONESBORO TONIGHT WHERE HE LIVES WITH HIS DAUGHTER , HIS WIFE HAVING DIED SOME YEARS AGO.
