ARKANSAS AT THE REUNION

MONTICELIO , MARCH 4 - ARKANSAS WILL BE REPRESENTED WELL AT THE REUNION OF CONFEDERATE VETERANS AT MEMPHIS , JUNE 8TH , 9TH AND 10TH , IF THE EFFORTS OF GENERAL W.A. BROWN IN COMMAND OF THE SECOND BRIGADE ARKANSAS DIVISION U.C.V. ARE SUCCESSFUL. HE IS SENDING OUT LETTERS TO COMMANDERS URGING THE ATTENDANCE OF THE VETERANS , POSSIBLE FROM THE BEAR STATE AND GETTING NAMES OF ALL THOSE WHO WILL GO IN UNIFORM.

MRS. HEAD IS PREPARING TO MOVE TO POCAHONTAS , WHERE SHE WILL MAKE HER NEW HOME WITH HER DAUGHTER . MRS. JOHNSON . MRS. JOHNSON LEFT FOR POCAHONTAS YESTERDAY. PARAGOULD REGRETS TO LOSE MRS. HEAD AND HER DAUGHTER . MISS LELIA HAS FOR SEVERAL YEARS BEEN ONE OF THE LEADING YOUNG LADIES OF THE CITY.

PINE BLUFF , MARCH 4 - THE $57,000 DOLLAR CLUB HOUSE WHICH THE BUSINESS MEN'S CLUB OF THIS CITY HAS HAD ITS EYES ON FOR SOME TIME . TODAY , TAKEN POSSESSION OF BY THE CLUB MEMBERS . IT ISN'T EVERY BUSINESS MEN'S CLUB THAT CAN AFFORD SUCH AN EXPENSIVE MEETING PLACE , BUT THE PINE BLUFF MEN HAVE FOR THEIR MOTTO , " WE WANT WHAT WE WANT WHEN WE WANT IT . " THE CLUB HASN'T ELECTED MEMBERS YET BUT WILL TODAY.

THE HUNDRED OLD MEMBERS ARE FROM THE MOST SELECT SOCIAL CIRCLES , ALL BEING MEN OF WEALTH . THE CLUB HOUSE IS THE FORMER RESIDENCE OF MR. AND MRS. W.H. LANGFORD . IT IS A MAGNIFICENT BRICK STRUCTURE OF COLONIAL TYPE.

BLIND MUSICIAN A WONDER

PROF. A.C. HOLT , KNOWN TO THE PUBLIC AS "BLIND , AMOS " IS IN PARAGOULD TODAY GEVING A PERFORMANCE IN WHICH HE PERFORMS ON FOUR MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS AT ONE AND THE SAME TIME. HE HAS PERFECTED THE INVENTION WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF WHICH HE PERFORMS ON A VIOLIN , SECOND VIOLIN , BASS VIOLIN , AND A CORNET , GETTING PERFECT HARMONY FROM EACH . HE HAS DEVOTED YEARS OF STUDY WHICH MAKES IT POSSIBLE FOR HIM TO PERFORM HIS WONDERFUL MUSICAL ACT.

SHOWING IN THE S. PRUET STORE VACATED BY THE ECONOMY STORE AND WILL BE HERE THE REST OF THE WEEK.

NOVEMBER 2, 1909 - THE DAILY SOLIPHONE

C.M. MILLER WILL HANG

HARRISBURG, ARKANSAS , NOV. 1 - THE DEATH SENTENCE WAS PASSED AT 7:30 SATURDAY NIGHT BY JUDGE FRANK SMITH UPON C.M. MILLER , WHO HAD BEEN CONVICTED OF THE TERRIBLE CRIME OF KILLING A. FLOOD ON HATCHIE COON LAKE LAST MAY. CUTTING UP MR. FLOOD INTO PEICES AND SCATTERING HIM THROUGH THE WOODS , IN THE WATER , AND BURNING PARTS OF THE DECEASED IN A STOVE IN THE HOUSE.

WHEN PORTIONS OF THE BODY AND SOME OF THE BONES OF THE DECEASED WERE EXHIBTED ON THE WITNESS STAND MILLER SHOWED NO SIGNS OF EMOTION .

WHEN THE JURY HANDED IN THE VERDICT AND WHILE THE CLERK OF THE COURT READ IT , MR. MILLER WAS COOL AND WHEN JUDGE SMITH PASSED SENTENCE UPON HIM HE STOOD LIKE A STATUE NOT MOVING A MUSCLE OF HIS BODY AND SHOWED NO SIGNS OF GIVING DOWN.

MILLER WAS SENTENCED TO BE HANGED ON DECEMBER 17 , WHICH WILL BE ON FRIDAY. SHERIFF BRADSHER HAD TAKEN THE CONVICTED MAN TO JONESBORO AND LODGED HIM IN JAIL. HIS ATTORNEY HON. I. C. GOING , HAS MADE A MOTION FOR A NEW TRIAL , AND IF THAT IS OVERRULED HE WILL APPEAL THE CASE TO THE SUPREME COURT . CIRCUIT COURT CONVENED AT WYNNE , TODAY.
