1920 A letter found in Allie Catherine Rodger Small's( to John Small) bible  written by John Small  to his son, Charley Franklin  and daughter- in- law, Allie Rodgers Small.  Letter was postmarked 11/30/1920 from Gainsville AR and sent to Romance AR. Signed : "From John and Sarah Small" to "Charley and Allie Small".  Remember  first wife, Rebecca had died in 1908, Greene Co. AR).  Marriage licenses issued to John Small and Mrs. Sarah Cronister in Marmaduke,Green Co AR 1909, pg 18.  She being 62 and John, 71.

Dear sun and dauter.  Take the presant time to right you a few lines and ancer to your kind and welcom letter that I received sometime ago.  We Was glad to heare from you and glad to heare  that you Was all Well.  We are as Well as could be exspect for old folks. I hope that this few lines will find you all well and doing Well.  We ar having some clodey and cole Wether.  The farmers has got the most of thar crops as far as I no.  I killed my hogs the 15 th .  they net about 800  thay both.  But that will make all the meet that We need  
sarah says she gesses that you have done somthen with you boy for she never hears from him.  Well you plese ecuse a short letter and Will try to do better the next time so I Will close for this time hoping to heare from you.  Well come out to see us a chrismas

Tina, certainly enjoy your website. Has been lots of help to me and  I believe
I have found John Small's wife Rebecca buried at Hartsoe cemetery that you have
listed on your site. Also school events I found our Marion Small (1 School Reporter)
twice, Jan. & Mar. of 1902.  Also something on George Small (deed & marriage
I am sending this bit of information to you, hopeing you may help me a bit more
about this family.  John Small and new wife Sarah mailed a letter to John's son
Charley,  Marshall AR in 1921, postmarked Gainsville AR that I found in
Charley's old BIBLE.
I have a photo of "The Dirty Dozen, Marmaduke AR" with only Charley's name out
of the dozen men.  Would you like to have it to post on your site?
