FRY - I am trying to find info. about my grandparents, my g grandparents, my gg grandparents, and especially my ggg grandparents. I know that the first 3 of those were from the Pocahontas / Ravenden Springs / Walnut Ridge area. But I am almost certain by things I have read online that some of their descendents moved into Greene Co. The following are names of my grandparents, great grandparents, and great great grandparents: Thomas Lafayette Fry & Etta Lou (Baker) Fry [my grandparents] ... John Leondus "Lee" Fry, born Aug. 9, 1862 or 63 and his first wife Laura (Barber) Fry [my great grandparents] ... Leondis Lafayette "Lee" Fry, born June 13, 1836 & his wife Nancy Jane (Jones) Fry, born Feb. 14, 1837 [my great, great grandparents]. But the only thing I have further back than this is just that Leondis Lafayette Fry's (my g. g. grandfather) mother's name was "Martha." I am especially interested in finding any info. about Thomas Lafayette Fry, Etta Lou (Baker) Fry (I think she is from Sharp Co but couldn't find anything on her), Laura (Barber) Fry, and my ggg grandmother whom I only know as "Martha," and whomever her husband(s) might be. FREEMAN - Searching for ancestry, etc. of ELLEN FREEMAN, b. abt 1842, married JOHN CRAWFORD MURPHY abt. 1874, had two daughters: DELLA MURPHY, b. abt 1876, and ELIZABETH MURPHY, b. abt 1880. Believed Ellen died in 1880 after or during Elizabeth's birth. Ellen is my mother-in-law's gggrandmother. Daughter of Mary F RIDDLE, is listed as a granddaughter of
Joseph RIDDLE in 1880 Union Twp, Greene Co, AR census. Parents
born in SC and NC., found with FARMER family in 1920 & 1930

aka: Banks FARMER was listed as a cousin of William
Dallas RIDDLE in an affidavit for his delayed birth cert. Marion
Brooks RIDDLE was my ggfather. He married Mary Ellen "Mollie"
WELCH (1862 NE?-1934 MO) in 1880 Green Co, AR. Had children:
1. William Dallas (1886 AR-1952 MO, m. Rhoda Bonnie Marlou WRIGHT
in 1909 Rector, AR, my grandparents, more below)
2. Myrtle (1889-?)
3. Earle (1896-?)
4. Morris (1899-?)
3 others that died young. Rhoda Bonnie Marlou WRIGHT (1891 MO-1983
MO) was the daughter of Sam Norman WRIGHT and Louisiana Elizabeth
CRAWFORD according to her birth cert. but her actual father was
Richard POUNDS of Bernie area in MO. She took the name WRIGHT of
her half-brothers and half-sisters. Wright, Riddle, &
Crawford are later found in Butler, Stoddard, & Dunklin Co,
MO as well as Cape Girardeau, MO.

FREEMAN - Researching Kennedy (Canady, etc.), Overall, Freeman, Straughan and Jones lines. James Kennedy left Weakley Co., TN, to Greene Co., Ark., in 1830s and is on 1840 Greene Co. census. In 1850 only his sons Cantrell Bethel Kennedy, born 1826 in TN and George Kennedy are on Greene Co. census. Late 1820s records show a James Kennedy was appointed guardian of Nathaniel Jones' children in Weakley Co. and Gibson Co., TN, records show a marriage between James Kennedy and Catherine Jones. This James may very well be another son of James. Cantrell Bethel Kennedy married Demarias Freeman about 1853 in Greene Co. Demarias was daughter of George B. Freeman and Nancy ___ both born in North Carolina and residents of Greene Co. Cantrell and Demarias' (Dimmer) children and spouses were (1) William Albert F. Kennedy, b. 1852-53, married Lola ___; (2) Mary Ellen (Marila) Kennedy, b. 1854, married Rudolph Dickerson; (3) James Neal Kennedy, b. 9 April 1857, married Mary Emily Overall, daughter of Edmund Overall, Sr. and Susan Straughan. Marriage date was 19 Oct 1896. (4) Ashbell Kennedy, b. 1859; (5) Isaac Claylo Kennedy, b. 1864, married Cindy ___; (6) Joseph Idaho Kennedy, b.1867, married Lily Bratcher and later Mary Jane Wright; (7) Louisa Ann (Sis), b. 1869, married Flavis Harvey. All of these children were born in Greene Co. James Neal Kennedy was my direct ancestor. I would like to correspond with others working on Kennedy and related surnames, especially Jones lines of Greene Co.
