HESTER - I
am researching Hesters in Greene County, particularly Thomas H.
Hester (c1849 - aft 1920). His father was Andrew Milledge
Hester, b 1823, AL who settled in Madison Co MS with parents
about 1828, d c1885, AR. Unsure about his mother's name.
Thomas supposedly built the Thomas Hotel in Paragould sometime
around 1860 or later.

HAMIL -
DUVALL, SMITH, HAMIL, ROWLAND - of Greene
County, Arkansas I am researching info about Mathilda (also
possible a.k.a "Sara") Duvall and family. The data I
have so far is: married Clarence E. Smith (b. 1/12/1882 d. 1/10/1955
- he is buried near Ashley,IL) her brothers: Lee and Delbert her
sisters: Annie, Nellie, Jessie
Mathilda and Clarence had 3 sons and 2 daughters. I have a name
for only one child: Leola S. Smith (b. 2/28/1918 d. 11/5/1998)
who married James Ralph Hamil (b. 5/22/1914 d. 12/1/1996) 11/3/1934
in Paragould, Arkansas. Leola S. and James Ralph's children are
Lee Frances Hamil and James Robert Hamil. Any help would be
greatly appreciated. Parents of James Ralph Hamil are James
Summers Hamil (b. 10/15/1879 d.12/6/1937 - buried in Center Hill
Cemetery - Paragould, Greene Co., AR) and Mary Idella Rowland (b.
7/5/1880 d. 10/7/1960 - buried in Center Hill Cemetery -

HUNTER - My g-g-grandfather Jason Henderson Hunter lived the last 20 plus years of his life in Greene County. Before the Civil War he lived in Bollinger Co., Mo, and before that, Macon County, NC. census. Parents born in SC and NC., found with FARMER family in
1920 & 1930 Green Co, AR
aka: Banks FARMER was listed as a cousin of William
Dallas RIDDLE in an affidavit for his delayed birth cert. Marion Brooks RIDDLE was my ggfather. He married
Mary Ellen "Mollie" WELCH (1862 NE?-1934 MO) in 1880
Green Co, AR. Had children:
1. William Dallas (1886 AR-1952 MO, m. Rhoda Bonnie Marlou WRIGHT
in 1909 Rector, AR, my grandparents, more below)
2. Myrtle (1889-?)
3. Earle (1896-?)
4. Morris (1899-?)
3 others that died young.
Rhoda Bonnie Marlou
WRIGHT (1891 MO-1983 MO) was the daughter of Sam Norman WRIGHT
and Louisiana Elizabeth CRAWFORD according to her birth cert. but
her actual father was Richard POUNDS of Bernie area in MO. She
took the name WRIGHT of her half-brothers and half-sisters.
Wright, Riddle, & Crawford are later found in Butler,
Stoddard, & Dunklin Co, MO as well as Cape Girardeau, MO.
