MORRIS - I have reason to believe my g-gg grandfather, William Morris and wife, Charlotte, may have moved into Greene County sometime around the end of the Civil War, 1865 or so from Saline County Illinois. They had been in Tenn. for a few years until about 1840 and they originally came from N.C. and Virginia. Anyone searching Morris. Thank you, Ernest C. MERRETT /MERRITT / McLESKEY - I am researching Conner/Connor, Merrett/Merritt, Throgmorton, McLeskey, Corzine, Wingo, Pinkston. Christopher Columbus Connor and wife Effie are buried at Brown's Chapel Cemetery, they would be my greatgreat aunt and uncle on my father's (Throgmorton) mother's (Corzine) side. My father's grandmother's brother and wife. Would like to know about the other brothers and sisters. Mary Elizabeth Mcleskey married James Merritt/Merrett about 1890, they had 2 children, Charles Leon and Annie Belle. James died somewhere-sometime between 1895 and 1900. I need to know James' parents and if possible date and place of death. Mary's mother was Sarah Wingo McLeskey Pinkston. Sarah married Edd Pinkston before 1900. MURRAY / MURRY - Searching for the parents of Guy S.Murray,Murry.He married Martha Dorsey in Greene Co 1846. He was born in Tn Feb11,1823,died in Jack Co Tx Jan,9 ,1908. Nine children born in Greene Co. 1. Ameliab 1848 2.Martha b.1851 3.Henry b.1854 d.1860 4.Robert F.b12.01,1855 5.Mary M. b.Mar28,1859 6.Jefferson D. b.Mar 5,1860 7.Belle b.Aug30,1865 8.James M.b.Dec19,1867 9.Alice b.Oct17,1869 I can find all these children except Amelia,Robert and Mary. Update - Guy S Murray married Martha Dorsey and had 9 chilldren in Green Co. He moved to Jack Co Tx in the 1880's with wife and 5 children,Martha who married Simpson Letbetter,Jeff my grandfather, James, Alice and Belle. I have been searching for Guy's parents for 40 years. MERIDETH - I am searching for Jasper Newton Merideth, He was born in Greene Co in 1845 and lived there all his life as far as I know. He married 3 times,but his first wife died 6 months after they were married.He married Orlena Marier Freeman. they had 17 children together and all born in Greene Co,Ark. Jasper donated his land to the Cudd Cemetery and the Tokio,community for the church/school. Orlena is buried in Cudd Cemetery so is Jasper but they spelled his name in the death book incorrectly, and so are some there children. I would like to know Jasper's parnets if any one knows.carlene denton
