George T. Parsons

the Wealthiest and most prominent planter in this county, died at

Gainesville yesterday under most sensational circumstances. These indicate that

he was poisoned at the dinner table in the home of his wife from whom he had

separated. Doctors who attended him say there is no doubt he was poisoned

with arsenic, but to make assurance doubly sure the deadman's stomach was

taken out and sent to St. Louis for chemical analysis.

Parsons and his wife separated several years ago, but he had made up and quarrelled

no fewer than eight times in the past two years. He lived in Gainesville,

while the home of his wife and children is on a farm on the outskirts of the town.
