MISS BLANCHE HENNING DROSTA AND CHARLES FRANCIS MILLER WERE MARRIED HERE BY THE REV. W.C. WOOD , A BROTER-N-LAW OF THE BRIDE , WHO IS A BAPTIST MINISTER AT PARAGOULD, ARK.

THE SERVICES WERE SPOKEN OVER LONG DISTANCE OF ABOUT 600 MILES . THE RITE , INCLUDING THE RING CEREMONY , WAS COMPLETED IN THREE MINUTES AND THIRTY SECONDS AT A COST OF $2.65 FOR TOLLS.

THE BRIDE AND GROOM STOOD SIDE BY SIDE , FACING THE TELEPHONE , EACH HAVING A RECEIVER . THE MINISTER WAS IN A BOOTH AT PARAGOULD . HIS WIFE WAS IN ANOTHER BOOTH AND THE LONG DISTANCE OPERATOR WERE WITNESSES.
