THIRTY-TWO LIVES LOST

MARIANA , Ark. , May 25.

Thirty - Two lives have already been lost in the

Arkansas river bottom, and a report from the St. Francis and White rivers

says many negroes and Indians there have been swept away. Sarah

McLeod, a school-teacher, was drowned Tuesday near Paragould.
