SKINNER RANCH CEMETERY

In 1987, after area residents
discovered trucks dumping fill dirt at the corner of Cameron Park Drive and
Green Valley Road near the Skinner Ranch Cemetery, they stepped in to try to
protect the tiny graveyard.
They cleared the grounds, and righted the tombstone of James and Jessie Skinner. They erected field fencing on the old fence posts that had previously fallen.
The mobile home park on the east side of Cameron Park Drive can be seen in the background of this photo. The commercial shopping center had not yet begun construction and it is easy to see just how much hillside was cut on the east "boundary" of the cemetery.
Their efforts were covered in the local newspaper.
