PHOTOS OF RECENT OBLITERATION
"Many
have filled unknown graves,
far from home and kindred,
with no kind
friends to drop a tear or plant a sprig
over their unmarked
graves..."
Pioneer Days in California
John Carr (1891)

The large rock at the right center of this
photo is near
the center of the Bentley-Parmeter Family Plot
There has never been any archaeological assessment as to the location of additional gravesites that may exist near the Bentley-Parmeter plot. The following pictures show the remaining "clearing" that has taken place on the remainder of this cemetery that was used from 1850 until the early 20th Century.

me your cemeteries, and I will tell you what kind of people you have."
