SAVING GRAVES
Endangered Cemetery Report
LAKESIDE CEMETERY
Folsom, Sacramento
County, California
Lakeside Cemetery (aka Lakeside Memorial Lawn
and Lakeside Cemetery and Mausoleum), is located in Folsom, Sacramento County.
I would like to hear from ANYONE who has family buried in this cemetery that
were buried between 1850 and 1939. I especially would like to hear from
people who CANNOT FIND THEIR FAMILY'S GRAVES ANYMORE.
If you have "lost" a grave of someone buried at Lakeside Cemetery in
Folsom, please contact me off list. This cemetery was also known as the
Folsom City Cemetery, the Citizen's Cemetery, and the "City Cemetery."
A part of the "Citizen's Cemetery" was also called the "COOK'S
CEMETERY" and later the "AMERICAN LEGION CEMETERY."
Contained within Lakeside is also the historic JEWISH CEMETERY (est. 1861), the
original MASONIC CEMETERY (Est. 1862), the IOOF CEMETERY (Est. 1862) and the NEW
MASONIC CEMETERY (Est. 1924).
If any of this sounds familiar, and you have family buried in what once was the
PUBLIC CEMETERY at Folsom and you haven't been able to find the graves, please
contact me.
