ANDREW ANDERSON

Andrew Anderson, numbered with the representative agriculturists of Sacramento county, resides near Elk Grove, California, having made his home here since 1886. His residence in the state dates from 1877. He is a native of Sweden, born July 5, 1844, and in his native country he was reared to manhood, acquiring a good education in the Swedish language. In 1869 he crossed the Atlantic to America, hoping tht his financial resources might be improved in this land with its superior business opportunities. He settled first in McHenry county, Illinois, where he resided for several years and thence came to California, in 1877, locating first in Yolo county, where he lived until 1886. He then came to Sacramento county and has since resided on his present ranch near Elk Grove, where he has one hundred and sixty acres of good land. He has acquired his property entirely through his own efforts and has worked persistently and earnestly in order to gain a good start in life. All who know him esteem him for his honorable business methods as well as for the prosperity he has gained, for throughout his business career he has ever been reliable, never making an engagement that he has not met nor incurring an obligation that he has not fulfilled.

Mr. Anderson was married October 18, 1882, to Miss Belinda King, of Yolo county, California, and to them were born two children, now deceased. Mrs. Anderson also passed away December 2, 1894. On the 2d of October, 1895, Mr. Anderson was married to Miss Agnes Mitchell, a native of Switzerland. In his political views he is an earnest Republican and is deeply interested in the work of the party as it pertains to his county and state. The cause of education receives his earnest endorsement and support and he is always a friend to every measure which tends to promote the welfare of his locality and of the commonwealth.
