BROCCOLI-Kedwig Krupski, age 82, of Trumbull, beloved
wife of the late Aldo J Broccoli, died Thurday, October 28, 1999, in Maefair
Health Care Center. Born in Bridgeport on March 29, 1917 she was the daughter
of the late Jacob and Frances Malis Krupski and had been a resident of Turmbull
for may years. Survivors include her devoted childre, Linad Krok and her
husband, Edward of Shelton, Claudia Konopka, and her husband, Edward, of
Turmbull, David Broccoli and his wife, Carol of Stratford; eight grandchildren;
a sister, Adele Jarusinsky of Stratford; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to go directly to St Michael The Archangel Church on
Monday at 10am. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment
in St Michael's Garden Mausoleum. Calling hours on Sunday from 1:30-5pm in
the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main Street (on the Trumbull line)
BUTENSKY-Mariam, of Southbury (formerly of Bridgeport),
died Staurday, September 18, 1999, in her residences, after a brief
illness. Miss Butensky was born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Morris
and Ethel (Gomberg) Butensky, and had attended Rider College of Trenton,
NJ. She was a former administrative assistant of the New York Public Library,
and had been associated with the American Jewish Committee. She was a caring,
compassionate person, and is survived by her sisters and brother-in-law,
Ruth and Attorney Albert Weinstein of Southbury, Rae Butensky of Fairfield,
Natalee Burr of Bridgeport, aunts, uncles, cousins and firends. Services
were held on Sunday at Aguday Achim Cemetery in Fairfield. Memorial contributions
may be made to the Southbury Visiting Nurse Hospice Program, or to Animal
Welfare Organizations. The Abraham L Green and Son Funeral Home was in care
of the arrangements.
CAREY-Brazil, age 78 of Bridgeport, died Friday,
November 26, 1999, at St Vincent's Medical Center, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Delray Beach, FL, she was the daughter of the late Elias and Mattie
Ivy. Brazil was a Connecticut resident for over 50 years, residing in both
Norwalk and Bridgeport. She is survived by her husband, George Carey of
Bridgeport; son Lawrence Carey of Danielson, CT; daughters, Delphine Jones
of Middletown, CT and Allison Carey of Stratford, CT. She was predeceased
by eight siblings, there are three surviving siblings, a brother, Elfedy
Ivy of Delray Beach, FL, and two sisters, Hazel Clem of Norwalk and Vela
Gaines of Bridgeport; a granddaughter; several nephews, grand-nephews, nieces
and grand-nieces. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, 8pm at New Hope
Missionary Baptist Church 1100 Park Avenue, with the Rev Dadiv O Miller
offficiating. Interment on Friday at 10am in Maple Grove Memorial Park Cemetery,
Easton. Friends may call Thursday from 6pm until time of the service at the

CLEMONS-David R (Chip), age 35, of Bridgeport,
died Thursday, in the city. Arrangements will be announced later by Morton's

COLEMAN-Charlotte F, age 84, of Stratford and Florida,
died Tuesday, November 30, 1999 in her residence after a long illness. Mrs.
Coleman was born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Mas and Fannie Frank.
She was a member of the Cong B Nia Israel, and a life member of the Jewish
Home for the Elderly. Mrs. Coleman was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence
J Coleman, and a daughter, Susan Coleman Vincent. She is survived by he son
and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Linda Coleman of Trumbull; her sister, Selma
Schwarz of Florida, her grandchildren, Rebecca Coleman of New York, lStacey
Coleman of Trumbull, Jason Vincent and his wife, Jennifer of Monroe, and
her nieces and mephews. Services will take place, Wednesday at 2pm at B Nai
Israel Cemetery on Kings Highway in Fairfield. The Abraham L Green and Son
Funeral Home, Fairfield is in care of the arrangements.
COLTER-Lenora , entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 30,

COOPER-Carrie Byrd , age 81 of 15 Blackshill Road,
Shelton, entered into rest Wednesday, December 1, 1999, in Griffin Hospital,
Derby. She was the devoted wife of Willie Cooper of Shelton. Her funeral
arrangements are incomplete. The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road,
Shelton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
COPPOLA-Patsy, age 38 of Fairfield, died Thursday, October
28, 1999, in St Vicent's Medical Center, Bridgeport. Born in Mt Veron, NY,
Mr. Coppola was a graduate of Pelham Memoral High School and Iona College,
Class of 88. He was a territory sales manager for Philip Morris Company.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Ferrante Coppola of Fairfield, his parents,
Joseph and Mildred Coppola of Pelham Manor, NY, two sisters, Donna Petrucelli
and Caroline Gallo both of Yorktown, NY and eight nieces and nephew. Funeral
services will be held Monday, November 1, 1999 at 11am in St Pius X Church
with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Lawncroft Cemetery,
Fairfield. Friends may call Sunday from 1-4 and 6-8pm in the Spear Funeral
Home, 39 S Benson Road, Fairfield and Monday from 9am to time of service.
DELIBRO-Lawrence A, age 81, beloved husband of
Anne Grega DeLibro of Stratford, died Friday, in Bridgeport Hospital. Mr.
DeLibro was born in Bridgeport and was a lifelong resident of Strarford.
He was a US WW II Army veteran and the former proprietor of D & L Engineering
of Stratford. He was a member of the Stratford EMS, Stratford Lions Club,
Knights of Columbus Council #2370 of Stratford and the Alhambra Benebad Caravan
#100. In additon to his wife, Anne, he is survived by one son, Richard L
DeLibro and his wife, Judy of Trumbull; two brothers, Michael DeLibro and
his wife Helen of Stratford, James DeLibro of Milford; one sister, Anne Dillon
and her husband John of Stratford; one son-in-law Louis M Burlone of Stratford;
four grandchildren, David R DeLibro, Robert L Burlone, Ryan L Burlone, Robin
A Burlone, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. DeLibro was also predeceased
by his parents, Carmen and Louis Manende DeLibro and his daughter, Carol
Burlone. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 1, 1999 at 9am
in the Galello-Luchansky and Samorajczyk Funeral Home, 2189 Barnum Avenue,
Stratford and at 10am in Our Lady of Grace Church with a Mass of Christian
Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. Friends may call

DILLON-Lenore M, 82, of Danbury,
died Thursday at her home at 7 Locust Avenue. She was the wife of the late
Robert W Dillon. She was born in Danbury on Sept 27, 1917, a daughter of
John & Lenore (Stearn) Lawlor. She was born, lived and died at her home
on Locust Avenue. Mrs. Dillon was a graduate of Danbury High School and a
1938 graduate of the Danbury Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed
as a private dury registered until the time of her retirement. Mrs. Dillon
was a lifetime member of St Joseph Church in Danbury; a Senior Volunteer
for the Western CT Chapter of the American Red Cross; a member of the Danbury
Hopital School of Nursing Alumni Association; and a member of the Thursday
Bridge Club. She is survived by two sons, William M Dillon of Kent and Thomas
J Dillon of New York City; a daughter, Linda (Dillon) Iribarren of Danbury
and Newpport, RI; and a son-in-law, Jamie Iribarren of Danbury and Newport.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 8:45am at St Joseph
Church. Burial will follow in St Peter Cemetery. Friends will be received
Friday from 4-7pm at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St, Danbury. October

EISENMAN-Mary Carr, of Trumbull, died October 30,
1999, in Bridgeport Hospital. Mrs. Eisenman was born in Boston, Mass, and
was an area resident for the past 50 years, having spent 30 years in Trumbull.
She was a retired mailroom supervisor at Fairfield University, Fairfield,
Conn. She was a WW II Army vereran of the Woman Army Air Corp. Mrs. Eisenman
was a member of the Word of St Theresa, the League of St Joseph's Manor,
a fromer member of the Mothers Club of St Charles Church, Bridgeport, Conn
and the Bellarmine Guild of Farifield Prep. She was the widow of Karl Eisenman.
Survivors include three sons, Patrick and his wife Eileen of Turmbull, Kevin
and his wife, Donna of Stratford and Gerard Eisenman of Trumbull. Funeral
services will be held on Tuesday at 9am in the Cyril F Mullins Trumbull Funeral
Home, 399 White Plains Road, and at 10am in St Theresa Church Main Street,
Trumbull. Interment in St Michael's Cemetery, Stratford, Conn. Friends may
call on Monday from 4-8pm.
FONCK-Joseph John, age 72 of Green Meadow
Road, Milford, died suddenly on October 29, 1999 in Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Mr. Fonck is survived by his sons, Joseph of West Haven and Michael of Queens,
NY and daughter, Susan Worster of Lincoln, Maine; brother Anthony Fonck of
Monroe; siter, Christina Logerwell of Tampa, FL; six grandchildren; a
brother-in-law, a sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Fonck
was a retired construcion engineer at Caldors in Norwalk for over 20 years.
He enjoyed fishing, the outdoors and especially his grandchildre. Mr. Fonck
was predeceased by his beloved wife, Helen Kamerowski Fonck; his parents,
Charles and Josephine Labrizzi; son David and a brogher, Charles. Smith Funeral
Home , 135 Broad Street on the Green, Milford is handling arrangements. Calling
hours are Monday, November 1, 1999, from 2-4ap and 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian
Burial will take place Tuesday, November 2, at St Mary's Church, Gulf Street,

FRABIZZO-Frank J, age 76, beloved husband of Jill Clarke
Frabizzio of Jairfield, died October 29, 1999, in St Vicent's Medical Center.
Born in Mount Vernon, NY, he was a resident of Fairfield for over 60 years.
He served his country during WW II as a sargent in the Army. Among
his decorations were the EAME Campaing and Victory Medals. After the service,
he worked for DuPont Company for 42 years before retiring as a shipping forman.
He was a member of the VFW Post 9427, American Legion Post 74, and the Gaelic
American Club. In addition to his devoted wife of 54 years, he will be sadly
missed by his loving daughter, Lorraine Stopa and her husband Jeffrey of
Fairfield, Daughter -in-law Sharon Frabizzio of
Fairfield; four cherished grandchildren, Tony Frabizzio, Kaitlin, Cassey
and Maggie Rose Ttopa; tow brother, Peter and Thomas Frabizzio, both of New
York, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Thomas and
stiste, Pauline Carnavale. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9:15am
in the Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road in Fairfield Center, and 10am in
St Emery Church. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, with full military
honors. Friends my greet the family on Monday from 3-5 and 7pm. In lieu of
flowers, Frankie would have like your contributions to go towards his
grandchildren's education. He adored them.
GELMAN-GORFAIN-Linda, age 47, of 2906 Clover
Crest Way, Olney, MD. died Sunday October 17, 1999. Born and raised in
Bridgeport, Linda was the daughter of Joseph Gelman and the late Bessie Gelman.
Services and Interment took place in Olney on Monday, October 18, 1999. Survivors
include her beloved husband, Steven H Gorfain, here cherished sons, Joshua
and Jared all of Olney. She was the dear daughter of Joseph Gelman of
Wilimington, Del., and the loving sister of Jerry Gelman of Del Ray Beach,
CL, and Robert Gelman of Newark, Del. The family requests contributions be
made to the American Cancer Society.
GRABIEC-Theresa R (Koundry) age 70, of Stratford, beloved wife
of Stanley Grabiec, died Friday October 29, 1999, in Milford Health Care.
Mrs. Grabiec was born on November 16, 1928, in Bridgeport, daughter of Rose
(Yanzo) Koundry, and the late Joseph Koundry, and was a lifetime area resident.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her three children,
Mark Grabiec, Kenneth Grabiec and his wife, Sheryl, and Mary Ellen Tomas
and her husband, Andrew, all of Stratford; four brothers, Joseph Koundry
and Paul Koundry, both of Stratford, Walter Koundry of Bridgeport and Edward
Koundry of California; two sisters, Dorothy Denton of Stratford and Mary
Ann Guilfoil of Mississippi; three grandchildren, Michelle Tomas, Rachael
Grabiec, and Joshua Grabiec; several nieces and nephews and the many residents,
parents and friends of Ella T Grasso Regional Center. She was predeceased
by a daughter, Cathy Grabiec, and a brother, Richard Koundry. Friends are
invited to attend the funeral service on Monday, November 1, 1999, at 9am
from the William R McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street, Stratford, and
at 10am in Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church for a funeral Mass of

GRACE-Charles J, age 79, of New York, formerly of Bridgeport, died
Wednesday, October 27, 1999, at his home in NY. Born in NY, Charles spent
a number of years in Bridgeport prior to moving back to NY. He served his
country in the Army during WW II and was honorably discharged. His most recent
employment prior to retiring was a truck driver for the Hunt's Point Market.
Survivors include a brother, Michael Diaz of Bridgeport, three sisters, Angelina
Grace of Bridgeport, Josephine Young of NY and Dominga Cooper of FL; 38 nephews
and nieces. Funeral services will be held Monday 11 am in the chapel of Morton's
Mortuary, Inc. 25 Margaret E Morton Lane, Bridgeport with Bishop Curtis Mouning
officiating. Interment in the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown with full
military honors. Friends may call Monday from 10am until time of the
service.
GUASTELLO-Alice E, age 86, of Park Lane Road East
in New Milford, Conn, died at home with her family on Tuesday, October 12,
1999. She was the wife of the late Frank A Guastello. Mrs. Gustello was born
on August 17, 1913 in Bronx, NY, a daughter of the late DeWitt and Marion
Lepp Brown. She lived most of her life in New York City before moving to
New Milford in 1987 to live with her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren.
Her married life was devoted to her home and family. Mrs. Gustello is survived
by a son, James F Guastello of New Milford, CT; two daughters, Marion Kane
of Woodside, NY and Frances Loftus of Boston, Mass, two brothers, Thomas
Brown of Woodcliff, NJ, and Raymond Brown of Danielson, Conn; and nine
grandchildren . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday,
10am in St Francis Xavier Church in New Milford. Burial will be in St Francis
Cemetery, New Milford. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 7-9pm

HALEY-Mary M, age 98 of New Haven Avenue, Milford, beloved
daughter of the late Daniel and Margaret Coughlin Haley, died Wednesday,
October 27, 1999 in Mediplex of Southern Connecticut, Milford. She was born
May 27, 1901 in Milford, CT and was a lifelong resident of Milford. Miss
Haley was a secretary for the former Rostank Manufacturing Co. of Milford
until retiring. She is survived by two nephews, Robert E Gannon of Destin,
FL and Daniel J Auburn So. of Shelton. She was predeceased by a brother,
Daniel F Haley and two sisters, Catherine A Gannon and Anna Auburn, Services
will take place Tuesday at 8:15am from the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad
Street, on the Green, Milford with a Mass of the Resurrection at 9am in St
Mary Church, Milford. Interment in St Mary's Cemetery,
Milford.
HEID-Jeanne Barker, age 67, of Fairfield, died October 29, 1999, in
Bridgeport Hospital. Mrs. Heid was born in Ashland, Kentucky and was an area
resident for many years. She was a retired bookkeeper. Mrs. Heid was the
widow of Arthur Heid. Survivors include her brother, Lowell and his wife,
Marilyn Barker of Trumbull; her two sisters, Mary and her husband, Robert
Shacoski and Margaret and her husband, Edwin Deveny, all of Shelton;
her two step brothers, Joseph Bike of Pennsylvania and John and his wife,
Maureen Bike of Tuscon, Arizona; her three stepsisters, Veronica Kutzscher
of Derby, Caroline Collins of Trumbull and Catherine and her husband, Lidio
Raffaeli of Stratford.She was also survived by many nieces and nephews including,
Michael, Kyle, Brian, and Liz Barker, Laura Shacoski and Jenifer and Danny
Deveny. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 am in the Cyril F
Mullins Trumbull Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road, with the Rev John K
Russell officiating. Interment in Mountain Grove Cemetery. Friends may call

HOPECK-Stanley J, age 86, of Stratford, son of the late Frank and
Mary Bilek Bopeck, died peacefully on Friday, October 29, 1999 in Bridgeport
Hospital. Born May 19, 1913 in McAdoo, PA. he was a resident of Stratford
for many years. He was a retired tool setter for Remington Arms Co., for
32 years and was a member of the Remington Road and Gun Club in Lordship.
Stanley was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Leona Worek Hopeck; brothers,
George, John and Joseph and sister, Julie. Survivors include his son, Gerald
Hopeck and his wife, Lucille of Stratford; a granddaughter, Barbara Janulis
and her husband, Peter of Fairfield, a grandson, Gerald Hopeck Jr. of New
Britain; a sister Stephanie Babon and her husband, Stanley of Hazelton, PA;
and a brother, Edward Hopeck of McAdoo, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 8:15am in the Adzima Funeral
Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford and at 9am in St Mark's Church with
a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St John's Cemetery, Monroe.

JONES-Kerry (Rose), age 45 of Sherman, Conn., formerly
of Ridgefield, wife of Colburn D Jones; sister of John Rose Jr., of Milford
and Judy Romano of Norwalk. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at
11 am at the Jesse Lee Memorial United Methodist Church, Ridgefield. Friends

KNAPP-Janet H, age 67, of Danbury, died on Tuesday
at Danbury Hospital. Ms. Knapp was born on Long Island, NY March 22, 1932,
a daughter of the late Donald A and Hazel (Peters) Richards. She moved to
the Norwalk area with her family as a young girl, and had been a resident
of Danbury since 1958. She was the former proprietor of the Pembroke Day
Nursery for 18 years, and later was a manager for McDonalds Restaurant, North
Street, Danbury, until her retirement in 1995. Enjoying wildlife and gardening
as a hobby, Mrs. Knapp was also employed part time at Halas Farm Market in
Danbury for the last four years. She is survived by two daughters,
Cynthia "Missy" Cote, and Robin L Lee, both of Danbury, and four grandsons.
Ms. Knapp was predeceased by her son, Mark Knapp. Funeral services are private
and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Memorial

KEITH-William D, age 65, of Fairfield, President
and Owner of Bilko Associates, a business brokerage consultion firm, died
on Thursday, October 26, 19999, in Carlton Chronic and Convalescent Hospital,
Fairfield. Born in Springfield, Mass, Mr. Keith had been a Fairfield resident
for the last 33 years. He was graduate of Mount Herman School in Northfield,
Mass. and received his Bachelor in Science Degree from the University of
Massachusetts at Amherst, prior to establishing Bilko Associates, Mr.Keith
was a management consultant for IBM, Pete Marwick & Mitchell and Merrill
Lynch. He was a member of the Patterson Club. Survivors include his beloved
wife Donna Purrington Keith of Fairfield; three children; David A Keith of
Bridgeport, Jeffrey S Keith and his wife Karin of Fairfield and Lynne Keith
McDonald and her husband Jeffrey of Andover, Mass; four grandchildren; David
Jr., Casey, Colleen and Madison; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald
and Ruth Purrington of Shelton; and several nephews. He was predeceased by
his brother John F Keith. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service

*LOSO-Dorothy E. Mackniak, age 80, of 17 Meeting House Lane, Shelton,
entered into rest on Thursday, October 28, 1999 in her home. She was
devoted wife of Hubert Loso. She was predeceased by her first husband, Jacob
Mackniak. She was born in Derby on February 14, 1919, daughter of the late
William and Elena Boinay Calderwood and was a lifelong Shelton resident.
She is the beloved mother of Jack Macknaik and his wife Louise and Edward
Mackniak and his wife Elizabeth, stepmother of Thomas, Richard, Stephen Loso,
and Barbara McDougall and sister of Marion McCarthy of Shelton. Her funeral
will leave the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton on Monday
at 9:45am for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am in St Lawrence Church.
Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from

MATTO-Julianna, age 82, formerly of Fairfield, died
October 28, 1999 in Travares, FL. Mrs. Matto was born in Bridgeport and had
been lifelong area resident prior to moving to FL. She was a very active
volunteer for area organizations including, The Red Cross, United Church
of Christ Women's Guild, YWCA, University of Bridgeport Scholarship Committee,
Fairfield PTA for five schools and Greater Bridgeport Symphony. Julianna
leaves her son George S Matto, three grandchildren, Georgiana Wright, David
M Matto and Jennifer L Matto. Two great-grandchildren, Brandon Patterson
Wright, and Julianna Evely Wright, and a niece, June (Zimany) Delinicki.
Predeceased by her husband Stephen G Matto, JR. Friends may greet the family
on Monday 8am to 10am at the Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road in Fairfield
Center. A prayer service will begin at 10am with the Rev Betsy Reed Officiating.
Interment in Mount Grove Cemetery will follow.
MCDONALD-Catherine A, age 75, of Stratford, beloved wife of James
M McDonald Sr., died Friday, October 29, 1999, in Bridgeport Hospital. Born
in Canton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late William and Alice Meier
York. A resident of Stratford for over 53 years, she was a retired bookkeeper
for M& M Fence Co. where she worked for over 35 years. She was a member
of the Our Lady of Grace Senior Citizens and Social Club as well as the Baldwin
Center and Baldwin Senior Citizens. Survivors in addition to her devoted
husband James, a son, James M McDonald, Jr., and his wife Sharlene of Trumbull;
grandchildren, Greg M McDonald and his wife, Patricia of Stratford, Lori
Mc Donald of Trumbull; a brother, William York and his wife, Betty of Stratford;
a sister, Margaret Arszyla and her husband, Joseph of Bridgeport; a
sister-in-law, Shirley York of Milford; and several nieces and nephews. She
was predeceased by a brother, Harold York. Friends are invited to go directly
to Our Lady of Grace Church in Stratford on Tuesday at 10 am, where a Mass
of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery,

MOSELY-Sam, age 93 of Bridgeport, entered into eternal
rest on Tuesday, October 26, 1999, in St Vincent's Medical Center. He was
born on April 20, 1906 in Albany, Ga to the late Reverend Louis Mosely and
Patsy Jackson-Mosely. He was a resident of Bridgeport for over 55 years.
He became a member of Mount Aery Baptist Church and was ordained as a Deacon
in 1960 under the leadership of Reverend A C Bass. He was a member of the
male chorus and gospel choir. He also worked on the Kitchen Committe and
a community program. He was employed at the Bridgeport Brass company for
25 years. He also worked as a security guard for the Bridgeport Housing
Authority. Survivors include on daughter, Paula Watkins; on sister, Mozella
Raniey; two nephews, Ocie Lowe Jr., and Melvin Lowe Sr; two nieces, Evelyn
Turner and Betty Sattiwhite and three grandchildren. Demetruis J., Janna
and Maurice. He also natured Delores Crawley and a godson, Reverend Matthew
McDonald. He was predeceased by a son, Demetruis Ellis. Funeral services
will be on Tuesday, November 2, at 11am at the Mt. Aery Baptist Church, 73
Frank Street, Bridgeport, Reverend Anthony Bennett, officiating. Friends
may call on Monday, November 1, from 6-8 at Mt. Aery Baptist Church. Interment

MULREADY-Mary J Farrell, age 70, of Lehigh Acres,
Fl, and formerly of Monroe, died Wednesday, October 13, 1999. She was an
active member of the First Baptist Church and a member of the American Legion
Post #323, both of Lehigh Acres. She well be lovingly remembered by her three
sons, James, John and Jeff Ferrell, all of Stratford; two daughters, Jane
Duva of Shelton and Joani Graves of Lehigh Acres; one brother; three sisters,
10 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. A memorial mass will be held
Wednesday, November 3, at 11am at Holy Name Jesus Church, Barnum Avenue
Stratford. Interment will be private.
MCLAUGHLIN-Philip H, former resident of Fairfield, CT and longtime
resident of Lost Tree Village, North Palm Beach, FL, died Wednesday October
27, 1999. Born in Bridgeport in 1915, he was a graduate of Brown University's
Class of 1938. During WW II, he served in the US Navy and achieved the rank
of lieutenant commander. Mr. McLaughlin was predeceased by his wife 59 years,
Sybil Bowen McLaughlin. He is survived by son, Edward B McLaughlin; a daughter,
Meredith H McLaughlin; a nephew; three grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren. A memorial service will he held at a later date.

PECELLI-Ralph A, age 71 of Bridgeport, died suddenly on Friday, October
29, 1999, at Milford Hospital. Born in Bridgeport, he was a son of
the late Clarence and Philomena Pirozzolli Pacelli, and was a lifelong city
resident. At Central High School, he was an outstanding football player,
and he served in the United States Army during WW II. Mr. Pacelli was a retired
forman for Terminal Transport Systems, which was formerly Pacelli Brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine DeStasio Pacelli, two sons, Bruce Moran
of Milford and Marc Pacelli and his wife Karla of Bridgeport, a daughter,
Lisa Pacelli of Bridgeport, a brother Clarence (Babe) Pecelli and his
wife Lorraine of Trumbull, two grandchildren, Jordan and Hailey, and several
cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to meet directly in Saint
Margaret Shrine Chapel, Bridgeport on Monday, November 1, 1999 at 10am for

PICCINI-John B, age 83, of Fairfield, beloved husband of the late
Mary Baldelli Piccini, died Thursday, October 28, 1999, in Astoria Park.
Born in New Have, Mr. Piccinin was a Fairfield resident for twenty years
and Boynton Beach, FL for twenty years, before returning to Fairfield in
1997. He was a machinist at Bullards, an owner of a Bridgeport business for
twenty years, and a member of the Subalpino Club. Survivors include his loving
daughter, Mary Ann Sirianni and her husband, Anthony of Fairfield; two
grandchildren, Maria Strong and her husband, Ben of Maryland and David Sirianni
of Los Angeles, Calif; a sister, Elisa Gallo of Boynton Beach, FL; and several
nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Lucille Piccini;
sister Lena Gaul and brother Frank Piccini.Funeral services will be held
on Tuesday at 8:45am from the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street
and Gorham Place, Trumbull and at 9:30am in Our Lady of Assumption Church

SCANZILLO-Thomas, age 91, of Monroe, beloved husband
of the late Susan DiCeco Scanzillo, died Thursday, October 28, 1999, in St
Vincent's Medical Center, following a brief illness. Born in Bridgeport on
September 27, 1908, he was the son of the late Joseph and Marie Sebastiano
Scanzillo. He was a longtime Bridgeport resident before moving to Monroe
20 years ago. Mr. Scanzillo was a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute,
Troy, NY and earned master's degrees from New York University and Fairfield
University. He worked as a mathematics teacher for the Bridgeport Board of
Education at Central and Harding High Schools for 45 years before retiring
in 1977. Mr. Scanzillo was a member of the fairfield Amateur Radio Association
and the Bridgeport Retired Teachers Association. He is survived by a devoted
sister, Lena Scanzillo of Bridgeport; a brother-in-law, Joseph DiCecco of
Bridgeport and a sister-in-law Kay Sweger of Shelton; nephews, Jack Piccolo
and his wife, Barbara, of Newtown, Frank Cortigiano and his wife, Mary Ellen,
of Trumbull and Robert Sweger of Huntington; nieces, Nancy Cedrone of Huntington;
Kathy Dominguez and her husband, Manny of bridgeport; Natalie Stevens and
her husband Robert of New Mexico and Mary Louise Roje and her husband Fred
of Florida. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by a sister, Fannie Scanzillo
Buono. A memorial Mass will be celebrated in St. Jude Church, 707 Monroe

TONTINI-Viola A, age 85, of 40 Chapel Street, Derby,
entered into rest on Saturday, October 30, 1999, in the Griffing Hospital.
She was the beloved wife of the late Walter P Tontini. She was born in Ansonia
on June 13, 1914, daughter of the late Giovanni and Adelina Letizi Ragaini
and was a resident of Ansonia before moving to Derby 40 years ago. Mrs. Tontini
was a seamstress for Berger Brothers in New Haven for over 10 years until
her retirement. She was a member of the Adriatic Marchigian Auxiliary, Central
Subupi Club and was active in the Ansonia Cub Scouts. She was the loving
mother of Paul A and wife, Jean Tontini of Seymour, Violet and husband, Gerald
Pernigotti of Derby, sister of August Tagaini of Ansonia, Octavio and Pasquale
Ragaine, both of Seymor, Anne Uluski and Zena Fasciano, both of Ansonia,
Mary Macri of West Haven and Evelyn Dorosh of Beacon Falls; proud grandmother
of 9 grandchildren and a great-grandson. She was predeceased by a son, Walter
P Tontini Jr; daughter, Gloria Bradshaw, brother Sigilfredo Ratganin; sister
Mafalda Ragaini. The funeral will leave the Edward F Adzima Funeral Home,

WESTON-Vincent J, age 79 of Fairfield died Tuesday,
September 14, 1999 in the 3030 Park Avenue, Bridgeport Medical Center. mr.
Weston was a life long resident of Bridgeport and Fairfield. He was a
Professional Photographer with a Studio on Main Street in Bridgeport for
forty years. Mr. Weston was an active member of the Professional Photographers
of America, Inc. and some of his portrait work was acquired by the association
for it's permanent loan collection. He was also a member of the Connecticut
Professional Photographers. Mr. Weston was a WW II Army Air Force Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa A Weston of Fairfield, two sons, Bradford
V. Weston and his wife Shellwyn of New York, New York and James F Weston
of Seymour, Connecticut; one granddaughter, India Alexandra Weston of New
York, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass was held on Saturday,
September 18, 1999 at 12noon in St. Pius X, Fairfield. Burial was private
in Oaklawn Cemetery, Fairfield. If desired, contributions in Mr. Weston's

WOOD-James D, age 72, of Bridgeport, beloved husband
of Lucy A Santone Wood, died on Friday, October 29, 1999, in St Vincent's
Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport, he had been a lifelong resident. Mr.
Wood was a WW II US Navy veteran having served abroad the USS Mount McKinley.
He participated in the Pacific Theatre, American Campaign, Asiatic-Pacific
Campaign and the Philippine Liberation. Mr. Wood was a former manager at
Singer Sewing Machine Co. He was retired from St. Vincent's Medical Center
where he had been employed as a security officer. He was a former member
and coach at the Orcutt Boy's Club, participating as a player and coach for
the Orcutt State Team. Mr. Wood had been the coach, manager and president
of the Park City Little League for many years. In addition to his wife, survivors
include one beloved son, James W Wood and his wife, Eve of Shelton, two brothers,
Thomas Wood and Hugh Wood; one sister Anne Crenwick; two grandsons, James
C Wood and Thomas G Wood; and several nieces and nephews. He had been predeceased
by two brothers, Peter and George Wood, and one sister, Isabel Renzulli.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Tuesday, November 2, 1999 at
9:30am DIRECTLY at St Joseph Church, 50 Fairmont Place, Shelton with a Mass
of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
