Englishmen from the northern river towns of Hartford and
Wethersfield arrived in 1662 to settle Haddam, Middlesex, CT, which
was then known as as Thirty Mile Island Plantation. Haddam was named
for a large island on the Connecticut River. The area, was
comprised of 104.3 square miles. |
